New to this and need help

I've always waxed my cars over the years and used off the shelf items. I've always bought name brand stuff, but still just a single product that you put on and take off. I'm wanting to use some really good stuff, and after looking around I've decided on the poorboy products. There are too many things to choose from though and I need help. I've read the threads on here an see lots of different people using the different products, but I don't know what's best for me.

What I have is a zinc yellow mach 1. Zinc is the more pastel yellow, not the bright yellow. I've had it 3 months now, I don't know what was used on it previously. I don't notice swirls and such on it, but being the light color it is may be the reason. There is one place on the top that a bird visited one day while I was at work, it was only on there a few hours but I can still see where it was...the finish is still all yellow, but I can feel it when I rub my finger across it. I tried claybar but I can still feel it. So....what products would you guys recommend for my car? It's a daily driver plus I take it to little car shows around, so something that looks nice and deep and lasts.

If the etching from the bird sh$t is below the surface of the clear coat, you may need to hire a pro with a rotary to get it buffed down.

Ive never had much luck removing them with a pc anyways...maybe im not patient enough yet hahaha.

Ive found a good way to see swirls on light colored car is to goto a shopping center at night. Those lights will show everything.

You need a shopping list?

Here goes !

A few microfiber towels to start out with.
Super Slick car soap
A bar of clay
SSR 2.5
SSR 1
Pro polish
Ex, or EX-P
Natty's (recomended, but optional)
Bold and bright
Natural look

That should complete your detail. I would pick up a wheel brush from Walmart or Pepboys, definatly get the Meguirs one, very nice.

Spray and Wipe
Spray and Gloss for maintenance.

OK, I can't tell if the bird sh$t is through the clear or just into it. It's not through the paint. I believe it's just etched into the clear.

OK for your list just to make sure I'm getting everything correct....

A few microfiber towels to start out with. << have these

Super Slick car soap << don't know if itls slick, but I have car soap

A bar of clay << have this

These two products take out swirl and such, correct? Do I need both 2.5 and 1?
SSR 2.5
SSR 1

Pro polish << This instead of polish w/caranuba?

Ex, or EX-P << what is the difference? I read the website but couldn't tell

Natty's (recomended, but optional) << carnuba for extra shine?

Bold and bright << for tires

Natural look << for interior surfaces

Sorry to be so dumb, just lots of products and I don't want to waste my time or money on the wrong ones. Do all of these have to be used every time? Also does the current wax have to be stripped off before starting? Like washing with Dawn or something?

You will need to follow up 2.5 with 1 to get rid of any micromarring that the 2.5 has couasud. Also if you dont have a pc on the list.. add it. Along with the pc get some pads. Alot of polishing pads are nice. Pro polish is a chemical cleaner you can use right after clay to make sure your surface is super clean. PwC is a super light final polish prior to wax. EX is a sealant that contains carnauba which will give you a slightly warmer look. EXP is just pure sealant with no carnabua which i think gives a reflective clear look. A carnabua like nattys will give you a warm deep shine as a sealant will yeild a clear look. As you said BnB is for tires and NL is for interiors. If you use these correctly then you wont need to use them everytime maybe 2 or 3 times a year if your careful with washes and keep it clean. You shoudl leave the dawn in the kitchen. Any prior wax will be stripped off from the clay and or polish. What kind of Car wash soap do you have. YOu will want a high quality wash to insure no marring. Also look into high quality wash mitts and a waffle weave drying towel or 2.

If your finish is pretty much swirl free, you could skip the SSR 2.5, and use either SSR 1 or the pro polish.
