I want to get a new PC orbital, b/c my ol wal-mart special is not NEARLY cutting it anymore. I only used it to remove wax anyway. I want to venture into the new world, but dont know what to get. Can I just buy 2pads and a removal bonnet, can the pads be rinsed and used for a 3 step wax system?

Is there just a package I can buy, like a starter kit that has some stuff for begginers. And like everyone else, I dont want to pay a arm and a leg. I have herd that just the PC is like 100bucks.

Please help me so I can produce a better looking car.

Thanks:wavey

You can buy various pad kits at any place that sells the PC pads. You can also buy the PC, backing plate, and pads, all as a kit.

Can I just buy 2 pads and a removal bonnet, can the pads be rinsed and used for a 3 step system? If you wanted to buy only 2 pads, you could always apply the top product by hand. I have never used a removal bonnet...I remove everything by hand. It usually takes at least 6hrs for my pads to dry enough for me to be able to use them again. Most people suggest a pad designated for one product only, so you should have 3 pads for a 3-step system, which I can only assume is a polish/cleaner/wax system. You don't want to use the same pad for a cleaner/polish and a wax/sealant. You could use a pad for two products that are very similar, like AIO and UPC or something.

Meguiar's has a backing plate and 3-pad kit (Wdav-99) for $33.

There are other kits as well, for around $50.

You can get by with two polishing pads and use the included finishing pad for applying wax/sealant if you wish.
