Hi! i was wondering if someone would answer a question that i have regarding the new improved griot's garage da? i would like to know if the backing plate that is supplied when you buy the machine can only accept 6" pads or can you use what seems to be the more common 5.5 pads? Thanks in advance for your help on this matter. Greg!

I don't have one but I did a quick search and it seems that you will have to run a smaller BP to accomidate a smaller pad. Plus some said that the BP that comes with it isn't that great. You don't want to put a pad that doesn't have much room on the BP, the closer the BP is to the pads sides the riskier it can be while polishing. I just did a quick search, so I may be wrong.
