New to detailing

I recently got a new car (2014 Acura TSX Sports Wagon) and want to take the right steps to make sure the paint last a long time. I've taken care of all my previous cars by washing it bi-weekly, using Meguiar's Cleaner Wax every few months, and claying it about once a year.

The week after I got my car I gave it a wash, clay, and polish/wax. I used Meguiar's Gold Glass Shampoo, Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit, and Meguiar's D301 (Microfiber Finishing Wax). It looks GREAT!

However, I'm not sure what to do between detailing and how often I would use Meguiar's D301. I also would like to maybe use a rinse free solution so I'm not using tons of water (California's in a pretty bad drought this year). Been doing a lot of research but not sure if my plan is right?

Bi-weekly wash...

1. Wash Wheels/Tires with Meguiar's Non-Acid Wheel & Tire Cleaner (D143)
2. Wash car using 2 bucket method with Meguiar's Gold Class (using Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt)
OR
Use Meguiar's Rinse Free Express Wash & Wax (D115)
3. Dry car using Meguiar's Water Magnet Drying Towel
4. GO over tires with Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel
5. Go over car with Meguiar's Last Touch Spray (D155)

Every 3 Month Detail

1. Wash Wheels/Tires with Meguiar's Non-Acid Wheel & Tire Cleaner (D143)
2. Wash car using 2 bucket method with Meguiar's Gold Class (using Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt)
OR
Use Meguiar's Rinse Free Express Wash & Wax (D115)
3. Dry car using Meguiar's Water Magnet Drying Towel
4. Use Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit (Every 6 Months)
5. Polish/Wax using Meguiar's Microfiber Finishing Wax (D301)
6. GO over tires with Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel
7. Go over car with Meguiar's Last Touch Spray (D155)

It's pretty apparent that I like Meguiar's. Haha. It's what I've always used and not sure if there are other products that I should use instead.

How does my plan look? Anything I should add/remove/replace? Just as a note I'm using the PC 7424XP.

Welcome to Autopia Forums. It looks like you have a great plan set up. You might consider putting some type of coating or sealants on your wheels. I doubt you will need the Megs wheel cleaner Bi-weekly after doing so.

I haven't used a wheel cleaner in so long after using Black Label Surface Coating. I just clean mine with soap and water.
