Hey all,

I've been into creating and maintaining interiors/exteriors of cars since I was old enough to drive. Over the past few years, I have gradually gained more and more in-depth knowledge about detailing automotive exteriors, and I have just recently purchased a Meguiar's GV110v2 set (da unit, pads, cobra mf towels, pinnacle pad cleaner/rejuvenator etc) from the Autopia store, as well as the Klasse twins and Collinite 845. I have been waiting for good weather (if the heat down here doesn't kill you, the humidity will) to get to applying the good stuff, and man I cannot wait.

Autopia embodies one of my greatest passions, and I have found it to be an incredible resource. Every time I log on I wind up learning something new. The community and camaraderie is great too.

How do you circumvent the heat and rains of the coming summer to fulfill your detailing responsibilities?

start early as possible in the am. keep out of the direct sun if possible (canopy, garage, shady areas) man, what I would give for an air conditioned, well lit, 3 car garage :D

Rain? Work in a covered area. Heat? change shorts/t-shirts several times each day
 
Welcome. Since I live in an apartment, I have to very carefully plan my detailing days... I agree with Steve on this, start early; et al. We've essentially had crappy weather down here in South Carolina for the past four weeks. I have a new DA and polishes that I'm itching to use, just trying to find a break in the damn rain.

I wait for October mostly :mad: .

I take on small sections of a car and stop. I have a fan blowing right on me while I work. This causes the product to dry too fast but its better than heat stroke. As you know, 93 degrees is tolerable, but with the humidity, it's just gross. I can go out to the garage to check tire pressure and I'm a sweaty mess.

But don't despair, and count your blessings. People up north have the same issue but reversed. On the car and motorcycle forums I frequent, I see so many people putting their rides away for the winter. At least here we have a 12 month riding/driving season.

Yeah, I have a tendency to drip sweat in front of the DA as I am spreading product. I hope saline & urea don't interfere with durability lol. I am just going to get up with the sun on days that require a full detail. Thanks guys :rockon
