New Solo line from Meguiars?

I don't want to start a Zaino war but the proof is in the pics..Zaino pics stand out better then any car i've seen completed with another product..

After polishing my car with PO85RD i thought there was no way i would have thought it could of looked any better.IMHO, I was blown away by the Z5 Pro/ZFX..i seen a noticable difference with the first swipe of my MF..

I'm not a Zaino Zealot or a pusher just someone who likes to experiment.

Is that right? Is it because Zaino does such a good job of removing swirls? I'm thinking you'll find a few that disagree with this belief. If your statement is correct that would mean that most of the people on these boards who choose boutique products are simpletons that have fallen for a good piece of marketing. They probably haven't tested a few products, made comparisons and made a choice one way or another, right?

I think im one of those pople who got cought up in the hype and amrketing. I have never compared any products. I know that if it more expensive then it must be better right?
lol but on a less sarcatist note. I think Zaino is an alright product (i know im going to start a war) but just because it botique dosent make it as such. Also i think there are better products for the price (just my opion). Im an old fashioned xxxx man myself and I dont get the carnumba glow with zaino. so i think im going to have to be one of those who rspecfully disagree with some of the eileir posts

Just about 3 years ago, I posted the following comment on a different forum.

Just pick the look you like best and go with it.
It really doesn't make any difference what anyone else thinks.
Car looks good either way, but since you said you prefer carnauba, don't let someone tell you that you need to use Zaino. If you like the Zaino, then by all means use it, but make it your decision not someone else's.
I believed it then, I believe it today.
I truly believe that many products will give satisfactory results when applied to a properly prepped surface. And yes, I have used Zaino. Good product, but IMO, not all that special. There again, since I reapply aomething every 4 to 6 weeks, durability is not a big factor for me.
We tend to forget that the statement, "Prep=90%, Product=10%", is pretty accurate.
We also kind of got off the subject of Meguiar's new Solo line.:)

I like getting off line. I use what I want, I use alot of products i dont like to try them but I stick to what I like not what anyone else likes. that wanst really the point of the post.. athough it was included it was more a shot at the comment about people getting sucked into marketing hype on botique products. :D

Joe, I too am not interested in starting a Zaino argument. I have it, I've used it and it produces a big shine. That said I don't believe that the proof of a product is in the pics. I don't post many pictures either because I believe they can lie. Not that all do. In fact some of the closeups that are pictured show nothing other than reality. I believe that to be more a function of the prep and polish than the LSP. I've seen lots of pictures as well as taken a few that show a nice shiny car but in reality it is no more than clean. The angle of the lense and lighting play a big part in what you see or don't see. I've seen spectacular Zaino pictures and spectacular carnauba pictures. My experience first hand is simply that Zaino is a very glossy, shiny product and one of the better protectants. I don't feel it's a product that shows depth in paint and ultimitely that's what I like to see. Zaino has its strengths and it is some users end all product. It isn't mine for the reason I've stated

I'm stating my opinion. You can agree or disagree. Most boutique products are mass produced, contain similar ingredients and function very similar to less expensive OTC/Pro products. Menzerna may be a great polish line (I have FP2 but haven't used it yet) but very good results can be obtained by Mothers Powerpolish and the correct pad and machine. 3m makes some very good polishes and so does Megs. Compare Adams to Chemical Guys and tell me boutique products aren't marketing BS. Zaino is expensive for sure but it is a very unique product line. Some love it-some hate it. Sal is consumed with making great products and the Zaino legend is spread by satisfied customers. Other very good product lines exist as well- Duragloss, Collinite, Werkstatt. Compare the best of the best OTC/Pro products and they equal or excel MOST boutique products. Sure there are rare exceptions and those products have loyal followers.
