New paint

I just got my '89 Mustang painted Viper red. I was very happy w/ the quality of the paint job. I was looking at the paint in the sun and I saw a good amount of swirls, so the other day I polished it w/ Meguiars Swirl Free Polish and that didn't seem do to a thing! I don't have a cutting pad for my pc, so i'm thinking about ordering one and getting some poorboy's SSR2.5. So does this process sound good to remove the swirls.

-SSR2.5 w/ cutting pad
-swirl free polish w/ polishing pad
-p21s or upp by hand

I'm not so sure if the swirl free polish would be the best stuff to polish it w/. Any other suggestions? Does this sound ok or should I do some other process. I know I won't be able to remove all the swirls, but I would like to remove as many as I can.

Thanks a lot!!

Here's a pic. of the car.

Swirls are scratches in the paint. A new paint job would possibly have them if it was color sanded and buffed and the buff wasn’t completed correctly.

Swirl free polish is very fine. If SFP didn't work then you need to move up to Dual Action Cleaner Polish. DACP can be used successfully with a PC. If DACP doesn’t do the work some rotary work will be needed Compound Power Cleaner or Diamond Cut.

You probably shouldn't put the sealant on for at least a couple of weeks, it will stop the solvents from leaving your paint. It will look good for about a week, and then your paint will go really soft and flake off. That would suck majorly, so hold off on the sealant, unless you decide that you don't like the color.

I have good results w/2.5. I've even gone from 2.5 right to the last step product its that good .I have a PC r/o w/yellow cutting pad . Oh and nice paint.

Yes the SSR2.5 will be fine and you can follow with the Swirl Free polish, but you should stop there as stated by tubafeak. Give the paint a good month before putting a sealant or wax on it. Just keep it clean until the paint has had time to fully cure and then you can top it:)
