Hello everyone,

I belong to clubgp.com and we always use this site as a referral to any detailing questions we have.

I have been cruising this board for some time now learning and listening....which will never stop, but today i finally joined up to show off my almost done garage.

I think his name is redcarguy that inspired me...which now i can thank as it is all starting to come to together.

Anyways, great site....seems to be great people here and even some west coast Canadians!!

Well, the floor is Armstrong from Revy, which is a canadian type home depot. Home depot up here doesnt carry black and white tiles for some reason.

A home depot near by is going thru a reno and i picked up all the cabinets on the left side for under 50 bux. Im thinking of getting another tall one to anchor the small cabinets, so there will be 2 tall ones and the small ones in between.

On the otherside of the tall cabinet is my work bench. I am in the process of getting a stainless steel top made and a stainless steel cap made for the legs.

On the far side, im going to hang a couple of shelves to house all my CART die cast cars....propably a black one and a white one.

Where the central vac is, that will all be enclosed with more storage on either side of it.

I think the last part, but wont be last, is getting rid of that nasty post!!

The one thing i dont know what to do, is the egde of my tiles where the garage door comes down....i need to cap it somehow.

Thats about it for now...love the site and again....redcar guy, you inspired me and now my neighbours think im nuts for doing that to my garage....but i do love it and plan on spending a lot of time in there!
 
Awesome! Now all you need is a wall mounted tv and a small fridge and you'll never have to go back in your house! :D



Well, maybe to the bathroom...:p

I couldn't agree more. redcarguy is my idol. When I saw pics of his garage I became inspired to do mine as well. I'm still trying to find someone to expand it first. Then the interior design will begin.
 
If you could do the "wall treatment" to that post (white over black) then it'd look pretty. As it stands, the raw post in the middle looks odd.

I put that post into that raw formation!

It was all drywalled and painted, but it has to go and this makes me push harder to get rid of it.

When i get closer to finishing everything i will post more pics.

The biggest thing i think ....is how little i have spent so far..less my back on that floor

Keep in mind, that post was probably put there for a reason other than to aggravate you. With a free-span the width you appear to have, some center support may be necessary. It may not have to be the center post, but don't just take it out without checking with someone with some construction knowledge. Looks great and I can see how you might have wanted to emulate Redcar Guy. My garage is quite workable, but it sure ain't for showing.

Another Vancouverite. Cool! Nice garage. I wish I had that kind of space. I have a one car garage in a townhouse where I cannot even open the doors on both sides fully. Plus, I have to stuff two motorcycles in there as well.



Oh, yeah, volvoguy, we don't need a/c here in Vancouver. It's hot enough to use a/c (especially in a garage) maybe 5 days a year here. Rain is more of a problem. Speaking of which, vineuh, is that tile slippery? And if I might ask, how much did all that tile cost you from Revy? I have been wanting to do something with my painted garage floor for a while, but haven't found anything that was economical enough.
 
The tile was about $50.00 a box..i think 45 per box.

I did the garage with 5 boxes.

The one time i did find it slippery is when im standing on a crate to replace my light bulbs.

Other than that, its pretty good. I just can wait to see what rain does to it....im hoping for the best.

I was thinking maybe theres a product out there that i can put over top to kinda seal the joints...still lookin
 
Looks fantastic!!! I'm jealous! One thing to suggest...perhaps some type of rubber or foam padding around the lower portion of the center support beam. Just in case, someone other than an autopian carelessly opens a car door and hits it.... :scared
 
Im hoping for the beam to be gone in a short time. I have a contractor coming to see if its possible to have it yanked.

After i ripped the drywall off, i took a look up top to see if there was a beam sitting on top...and to my good fortune, i didnt see a beam on top. I live in a complex with 9 other townhomes and only 3 of us have this beam. It really doesnt make sense as to why i have it and the others dont.

I took a coat hanger and put a 90 degree bend on it and i ran my coat hanger right over the top of it, so i have no idea what its doing there.

Im hoping my contractor will be able to figure a way of getting rid of it. Even though there is no beam sitting on it, I believe it is serving a purpose....a home builder im not, but when it comes to my garage and my car...i can do it....no matter what!
