starting out using it to apply waxes at slow speeds to get the "feel" of it. There is plenty of help and videos here. Someone can point you in the right direction when your ready to "step up". Feel free to ask questions. Did you order a separate backing plate and pads? The PC comes by itself with a permanent pad/plate.

I ordered an AutoGeek kit that has the backing plate, counter weight, and five Lake Cnty pads, plus a few other items.
