I am a new member, hi?

I have a 89lx and the wife has an 89gt.

My car is a red stang but has no clear coat. It is shiny but what do you use if you have no clear coat?

Then my wife has an 89gt that was painted by Earl Sheig:down .

It metallic silver but it seems to have shadows in the car. Like it looks good from one angle but then you see shadows from another. Is it the clear coat?

Thanks!:xyxthumbs

You can use the same products you use with a clear coated finish.

Metallic paints need to be applied very evenly, if their not some areas will appear darker than others. So it's most likely the base coat, not the clear.

calientecafe- Welcome to Autopia. What Andre' said :xyxthumbs I find that the biggest "trick" to working with single stage paints is to never let them get to the point where you have to get aggressive with them. Your LX looks like you keep it very nice, so just keep it well protected against the intense AZ sun and be careful when washing off all the dust you folks have to deal with.

my car was pinkish orange when i first go it. I had to use some harsh stuff to get it like that. The more i wash and wax and polish the better it looks.
