I'll try to keep this short.
I have a 2001 BULLITT GT and take LOTS of pride in keeping her VERY clean and the milage low ( 11,500 ) I usually take her out once or twice a month. After I get home I usually wipe her down before I enter the house ( btw which drives my wife crazy ) About a week ago I took her out and did the routine and started wiping her down, when I got to the front I noticed I had little white granuals ( looked like sand or salt or the like ) ALL OVER my front bumper, headlights, chin spoiler and about 5in. up my hood :shocked :angry I'm talkin at least 10,000 of these things. Needless to say, I felt sick to my stomach. Anyway, I put a post up on IMBOC and they said they think it's street paint ( from stripes and such ), I have NO idea what it is but they are very small and kind of sharp edged milkywhite and imbedded in my car. ( if you rub your hand over them you can feel little bumps ) So I've washed it, waxed it, used polishing compound, claybars and NOTHING will take this stuff off with the exception of the polishing compound with rubbing ALOT and leaving very fine scratches. Do any of you pros. here have any experience with this situation or any thoughts on how to get them off withOUT scratching my paint. I have a carshow in less than a month away. BTW someone told me to use paint degreaser, what about that?
PLZ :bow PLZ any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
