Just bought a 2013 Kia on Jan 18th. I'm 25 and this is my first real vehicle so I'm a complete beginner to any sort of car detailing other than washing and waxing with very cheap products.....

I haven't treated the car yet. In my city the snow is terrible and the 5 months of road salt is a terror. I'll be on the forum a lot. I'm going to be doing a thread with all my products and experiences as a first time beginner.
 
Welcome! Do some searches on 'sealants' which are far more durable than carnauba based waxes. This is what you'll need to endure the rough weather. Congrats on the new Kia!
 
Yeah i bought the Blackfire crystal Seal sealant and their polymer spray as detailer and booster. Now almost regretting not getting opti coat 2.0 because other members in my Kia forums say our paint is so soft it scratches and chips very very easily.

there is nothing wrong with the blackfire product, but OC is top shelf IMO.
