What kind of introductory special could I run to introduce folks to my new shop? Its not the most visible location in the world but I'll take it. I'm considering offering something like 20.00 wash and vac for cars & 25.00 for van/suv's to the folks around the neighborhood where the building is located and hopefully I can begin to sale detailing package. please share your feedback.

Congrats on your new place . It takes alot to run a store front. I admire you .

I like your idea but how about a special on wash and waxes? You wouldn't want your customers to get in the habit of just getting washes . Some folks think a good wash is a detail ya know.

$40 wash n wax reg

$50 for van trucks and suv's ..

The pricing is of course entirely up to you . again congrats and good luck . I wish you the best .. :goodluck:

It's all about signs, which I can't afford. I'm doing a wash & sealant + tire shine for $49.95-$59.95 as my new shop special. I can still make money on it, and only lose if someone has a lot of mud or tar or something.

I like to up sell either a 1 step machine polish and wax or a Super Interior service which consist of air hosing all Vents, Dash and Center console, a thorough cleaning of all interior components, a dressing of all interior components, windows, and vacuum both up sells go for 39.99$ When times are slow I will also shampoo the mats for free to get the service and it will only be an extra 8-10 minutes.

Congrats on your new pad!

My first thought was: Are you a part of your local Chamber of Commerce?
Most Chambers offer a "Ribbon Cutting" for new places of business.
It's a short photo-op. They typically come out with 10-15 business
community members and shoot a pic of you cutting a ribbon in front of your
place. Our local CC publishes in the paper and in their own newsletter.

You should consider that OR a press release to the Business Editor of your
local newspaper. Anything to get your name out there. Let folks know you
exist and that they should call you first!

I wouldn't go too cheap on my rates. Even as a Grand Opening Special.
Most customers will come back expecting the same price or they'll wait 'til
your next special. Perhaps offering a free gift would attract business.
My local Meguiar's rep loaded me up with products I often 'bless' my
customers with.

Well, I'm no expert, but there are my 2 cents. Good luck with your new
shop and my 2006 be a posperous year for you!

peace,
michael

When i opened my new location I offered 10% off my complete and my supreme packages. I also did a booklet of 2 free wash and vacs and handed them out to local business and homes. I hope this helps and good luck to you!!
Regards,

Jay
