Today we cleaned up a 1987 XJ6. I work with the owner who has had this car since it was brand new.

We were working with a budget, but I wanted to perform a 1-step polish to remove some swirls and restore some gloss

Let’s begin with some before shots.

Car was in really good shape.

Interior was in good shape, just a good wipe down and vacuum.

Wheels looked clean.

Wanted to make sure they were clean between all the slots. Using Mini EZ brush

Not as clean as they looked

Thanks for looking.

Nice work. I had an '87 XJ6. The paint was quite susceptible to swirls but always buffed out great.

Nice job! One of my favorite '80s sedans! Had a friend with the Vanden Plas version and my neighbor had a '86. My understanding is they could be mechanical/electrical nightmares though. Good car for the Autopian who washes and QDs more than he drives it :o I guess.

Thanks, the car has been repainted and has fairly soft paint. For a 1-step correction, we were able to eliminate 80% of the defects.

Considering he has owned the car for almost 25 years, I'm sure he's ran into some mechanical issues. But the car runs extremely well.

Classic design that will never be duplicated. Great work. Would love to own one if I could find in a condition like this one.
