Hello all. Quite an amazing site you have. I've been lurking for awhile now, and after this I'll relegate myself to the "autopia university" forum for all my questions, just wanted to make my first autopia post a 'click and brag'.
Anyways, my short story:
I'm a 22 year old college student from St. Paul, Minnesota. This is only my second car, and up until ~7 months ago, my idea of car care was:
1. Bring car to gas station
2. Put 4 quarters in machine
3. Wipe car down afterwards with an old nasty towel.
Then, on a local car club forum, someone made a post about a Wolfgang evaluation kit being sold for only $10. I thought, why not?
I asked around as to how to wax my car with the stuff, (I was really dumb, lol), and soon learned that detailing a car entailed much, much more than I had bargained for.
Long story short, I'm now washing with sheepskin mits, drying with W/W MF's, and have a relatively healthy collection of all kinds of products. (Though I am sure it would pale in comparison to 99% of this board).
I still love WG on my black baby though, and here are some pics of it from this summer. They make me feel warm just looking at them. I still do everything by hand, but am looking to get a PC and some polishes to work with it this coming summer. My swirls should finally bite the dust by then...
(These were taken by a crappy camera, and then scanned on a crappy scanner. So you may notice some spots and smudges, not to mention the low res.)
P.S. A little info on my car in case anyone cares. It's a GS model, which means the 3800 v6 in it comes supercharged. I've got some mods on it, and have put down a 13.94 at the 1/4 mile track. Looking to be a lot faster soon.
Thanks for looking, and my apologies in advance for the numerous mediocre pics and the life story, lol.
Let me know what you think.
-Bobby
