New detail rig, sneak peak

I don't have any sort of glass polish, all I have is Eimann Fabrik clear vision and I'm trying to get a crystal clear windshield, but there is still small spots and particles on it.

Will AIO do the trick? Or maybe some of this Eimann hi-intensity cleaner that I bought for tires and door jams? Or wait for some polish?

Thanks! I'll be out washing my car with my 8 new miracle towels.

I can't really speak for AIO or EF-HI on windshields, but I would highly recommend claying it. I had something on my windshield I could have <em class='bbc'>sworn[/i] was etching but the clay pulled it right off!

Has anyone tried *gasp* <span style='font-size: 8px;'>RainX Glass polish? Is this stuff abrasive or chemical cleaner? If it's chemical, it is useless if one is using AIO or PPCL.

I was hoping for a lightly abrasive glass polish to cut down the sharp edges of little pin-sized rock "chips" (very, very small). I'm guessing ZAINO glass polish will be recommended, is this the best choice?

I thought it was abrasive, was that correct? If so, how did it do for any little chips you had (like the super-small ones Ireferred to above)?

I used Z and a Glass polish in a metal pour can that I forget the name of. Kinda light brown stuff. Not bad but not great either.

Z was quite better. It may not be the best but is ot bad.

I do not think anything can remove chips since they would need to be filled.

The "chips" i keep referring to are about as big or smaller than the period: .

I know larger, REAL chips must be filled but I don't have any of those, just the pinpoint sized ones.

Z window polish is definitely abrasive, but it didn't do anything for small chips. Didn't really expect it to though. If the chip is something that can be felt with your fingernail, then you generally can't do anything about it.

It won't do much for deep chips but it will really polish the windows, make them crystal clear, remove all water spots and improve the general apearance of the window. I follow up with Z2, and never have to use glass cleaners on the outside of the windows. After a car wash, Z6 gets them perfect every time....

Guess my name...

The light brown stuff in the can that you refered to is called Glass Wax. It's actually more of pinkish brown (I guess you would call it mauve color) A lot of people use it on stencils to do holiday decorating. It does clean glass well, but it is a lot of workl

Yeah thats it. IT does clean well but does leave a powdery dust everywhere.

I use it on the chrome sometimes. Cheap and OK product.

After a lot of hard work and a very busy schedule for quite a while now, it was finally time to upgrade my daily driver. For the last few years, my civic has been my daily driver and detail vehicle. It could fit pretty much everything, but it wasn't fun and I really did need more room. So today I picked this up and it will be my new daily/detail rig!!

I've never had a vehicle fully loaded before, so this is a HUGE change over my very basic civic which pretty much only had AC and power windows and steering lol. I have plans for mods for the truck soon, both personal and business related. It also needs a thorough paint correction, but for now here's a blurry pic from my D40 right after the lens started having focus issues. When I detail it up I'll be using my brand new D90 :)

Is it blue or black? If it's blue, it's the same as mine (with a more loaded interior), but same two-tone. Nothing but praise for mine so far, great truck, you'll be happy.

Very nice! I miss my 99 Z71, it was loaded as well and was one of the most comfortable trucks I've ever had, I loved that thing. Sold it, on ebay, with just under 100K and was trouble free its entire life!

Congrats, you'll love the room and the hauling capability.

A very nice looking, solid make truck !! Love the two-tone color combination you have, and its really loaded with everything you would ever want, right ?

I tried for years to buy a new one of these, in the Denali version, but was always turned off that they want in excess of $55k for them around here..

You are so set up now, you lucky !! :) :) :)
