Yes, wax right away. The paint on your car is baked on making it possible to wax right away, plus the car was porbably painted a few months ago. I would suggest that you clay the car, use the cleaner and then top with UPP.

I spent several hours with my new car when I bought it. Between getting rail dust off and the adhesive from the transport sheets, there was definitely a reason to do it. The paint on your brand new car is likely already several weeks old, so even if it wasn't heat cured then it would probably still be old enough to wax. At any rate, I would use a paint cleaner and a polish first to remove any glazes or garbage wax that the dealership used and then put on your favorite wax or sealant.

Clay may be almost as important as wax on the first time detailed car. Protect the finish as soon as you can.

Congratulations on the new ride. You can wax as soon as you like and probably should. You can not be certain if there is any type of wax or sealant on it already. Make sure you give it a good clay job. Many new cars tend to pick up quite a bit of debris and contaminants in transit and while sitting at the dealership. Especially if your car was driven as part of dealer trade.

The good news is this will be the easiest detail you do on your car. This is also a good time to get a layer of wax on your rims if they are aluminum or chrome.

Enjoy the new ride.
