New Car... Steps to Take

I have a new car on the way, its a dark blue metallic.

Im trying to decide what steps/process i'll use.

Im thinking the following:

Wash ( have to decide on soap )

Clay ( any )

Wash

Wax ( NXT or Souveran or something that brings out the blue, )

Applied with Hand

At this point, the car is still in production. Im pretty sure the condition of the paint will be excellent by the time i receive it.

Do i have to polish/seal? necessary on a brand new car? or can i just use the steps above for now? and maybe later when needed i can do the polish/glaze step

Thanks

Will you instruct the dealer NOT to detail your car? Most Autopian's would not allow the dealer to detail their cars.

Yes, evaluate the paint conditon and this will answer what steps you need to take.

Others will chime in, in the mean time click on the Learn sign above, this will give you a solid foundation.:up

Start right from the beginning. Dont let the dealer prep it. When you get it home you can clay if necessary (wont hurt if you do), Polish, Seal, Carnuba. Try the Klasse Twins (x3) topped with Souvern or TS.

oh, and congrats on your forthcoming new car. :)

Yes! Very Nice.

What steps/products did you use?

Also, what would best describe that finish? im trying to learn about the different types of finishes. would that be considered depth? glossy? reflective?

Since your car is new I would

Wash, clay, Klasse AIO, then your choice of sealant or wax. You may even be able to skip AIO.

i instructed the dealer not to prep it.

Somone mentioned in another thread the following combos:

1) AIOx2, SGx5

2) AIOx2, SGx5, Souveran x2

3) AIO, Souveran x2

4) AIO x2, SGx5, NXT Paste wax x3

i dont think you will need two coat of AIO since its a cleaner and itll just remove the first layer of AIO anyways. sme just do it because they mightve a missed a few spots and they want to put another layer just in case (which i dont). and i heard SGx4 was already enough isnt it?

I'd do something like AIO, SGx2 and UPP/whatever wax you wanna use. I'll be doing this combo to my Lexus when the time comes to repolish in a few weeks.

BTW, what kind of car is it?
