Ok, i was driving this weekend and was at a red light. I look next to me and there was this shiny clean Cadillac. The new CTS or whatever theya re now. I noticed that the thing was orange peeled really realy bad. I can remember a few buddies of mine working for Cadillac and they always talked about how their paint proccess is this highly gaurded secret. WTF happed to Cadillacs paint process?

Standard Equipment at General Motors. No longer an option it is now included.
I used to be a big fan of GM but the last vehicle I bought from them was just that. The Last!
When a $40 K vehicle doesn't even have the inner panels clearcoated it just shows that there is no pride in finishing off a vehicle properly. Even a Civic or Corolla is finished better. I have two neighbours who have new GM vehicles and they are fed up.
What a shame!

I've driven Jeeps for the last 10 years two used and one new and found them to slowly go dow hill in quality for me. I drive a Nissan now and the car is finished off well the paint is near perfect can't complain what so ever

Are you sure it was factory paint?? My parents had a Caddie and that paint was flawless.

Positive cause I started to notice this on all of them. My Civic's paint has less orange peel than these do.

I sure hope that overpriced $70,000 convertible Cadillac has out has better paint!

Funny I've never noticed this problem on my STS or any other Caddy I've worked on .

Me either. I am just wondering if maybe the CTS is their lower version and maybe coming off of a new line that does not use their old paint techniques?

I own a CTS with the 3 stage metallic white dymond paint. No issues here. Maybe some of the base colors that they don't charge you the extra $750.00 for have the orange peel problem. I'll have to take a closer look.
