Okay so i just got my new truck. hrre is what i did and wanted to know if it is okay or if anything else can be done. first off washed with zaino car wash. dryed with green guzzler micro towels, sprayed with zaino #8, used danse wet glaze( thought i would use it to make sure no water marks, not sure of this) sprayed again with zaino 8, now for the front of the truck and hood i used pinnacle souveran, sprayed again with zaino 8, then for the bed i used zaion 5 with accelerator, sprayed zaino 8 and used the zaino 5 again. is something missing or do i do to much? haven't even got to the inside yet. there are tiny scratches and some swirls allready and i just got the truck yesterday. only 80 miles on it.

thanks

chris

It sounds like you need to start over. You said you put down souveran then Zaino Z5. There will be issues laying a sealant over a carrnuba. You used alot of products in a short amount of time with little time to cure. It might end up a streaked mess in the sun. If I were you I would wash the whole thing over with Dawn. Clay the whole truck, then buy a Porter cable 7424 and a few pads and buff those swirl marks out. On a new vehicle they probably aren't very bad and you might get away with a light polish and a white Lake country pad. After buffing, wipe it down with IPA mixed with water, then use a quality AIO like Klass ZAIO or DG501. Then you can lay down your wet glaze and top it with some Z5 after maybe 12 hour to cure. Wash it with Z7 then and hit it with Z8 then put on some Souveran but once you do that you can't put any more Z5 on it. That is still a lot of products though. I think you could simplify it after buffing with just an AIO and Souveran.

sorry for the confusion. i didnt layer the zaino and soveran. just used zaino on the bed of the truck(back of truck) and used soveran on the whole front of the truck and hood and roof. just to see a difference.

thanks for the reply

If it is a jet black, it is almost impossible to avoid minor swirls just by washing, drying and applying products.

I have jet black. I wash correctly, use a leaf blower and micro-fiber to blot dry and properly apply products and still get very minor swirls. Such is the life of jet black. Impossible to avoid. As matter of fact, all cars get these minor swirls from proper cleaning/protecting, but black happens to show them the easiest.

One sealant you can put over a nuba no prob is UPGP. I start the year out with a clayed and buffed car with three coats of UPGP over three days to cure. Then I put down P21S 100% next two washes. Then every three weeks for so I put another layer of P21S 100% and every two months or so I will do another layer of UPGP (my car is outside 24x7, I own it outright and plan to keep it for years, so the use of so much product is to protect from the elements - primarily sun. UPGP is great for this).

Works great, looks great, no streaks or splotching, no loss of deep, brilliant, wet look on jet black, though a top layer of P21S 100% looks better than the times I refresh the UPGP, but UPGP gives a nice look in its own right.

Thx for the help. i park in my garage but it is a daily driver. i have all sorts of products just not 100% confident in how to use them. i am thinking of hiring a detailer in my area and asking if i can help him so i can learn. i am not going into this trade so shouldn't be a problem i hope. this way i can learn on my own vehicle and make it shine great.

thx
