HI all

I am new to forum.I have a 3 months old car, Black colour.

this is first time i would be doing car detailing ( although i did wax it once before)

I am planning to buy either of two kits

Prestige III Kit that inculdes:
P21s Bodywork Conditioning Shampoo
Klasse All-In-One
P21s Carnauaba Wax
Pinnacle Crystal Mist Spray Wax

"OR"

Souveran Sizzling Shine Kit that includes:
Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo
Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion
Pinnacle Souveran Wax
Pinnacle Crystal Mist Spray Wax

I have few question:

1) which of the two is better kit. both are costing around $70
2) Do i really need a to add a selant. If yes is, than is "Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze" good choice. Or an Klasse all-in-one, which is part of the first kit, more than enough.

Pls advice asap.

Almost any wax is good, though some are better. Sealants last longer, and make a great base for wax. Here are my tips if you want to keep your car sharp (black is impossible):
1. Always make sure every applicator and microfibre towel is spotlessly clean and without dust--always.
2. Polish as little as you can; wax/seal as much as you can.
3. Wash with the slickest soap, the least harsh chemicals.
4. Wash with a grit guard or several buckets.
5. Wash with a lamb's wool mitt--not synthetic or a brush. If you can't do this in winter, pay for it at a shop and watch them do it.
6. Park in safe places that aren't crowded.
7. Wear an apron or don't work on our car with a belt and buttons.
8. Get the plushes mf's and best products you can find. If money is an issue, Natty's Blue is great, preceded by EX-P. If not, go with Souveran; I love them both.

Very good points. I would add don't let your car get too dirty before washing. So basic it sounds stupid. I have two black vehicles.

well, thanks for reply

But none of you are answering my question.

I asked which is better of the two kits and is there a need to add a Klasse sealant to the either of kits i mentioned

So pls read my question again and advice

PS: Just to confirm Prestige three ( the I kit ias availble @ $59 at amazon) and Sizziling shine kit ( The II kit) is avaliable for $79 Less 10% and free shipping = $71 net at pinnaclewax.com.

So pls advise fast

There is no need to post the same exact thread in two different places. You have some good advice in both threads that should help you out a lot. If your not satisified with the answers, try to do a search on the site for your specific question-- it'll be quicker and more in depth.

Btwn those two kits, I would pick the Souveran Sizzling Shine Kit. I haven't had much luck with the pinnacle wash, but the souveran wax and crystal mist are on my top shelf for black.
I would order a couple of good quality waffle weave MF drying towels as well.
Clay is something else I would also add.
Have fun and post some pictures.

Why would you want to polish as little as possible?
Try the first kit first and see if you are satified with the results. Its all about you and trial an error. I recently switched from meg's product to Poorboy's. I found that the PB gives better depth to my black car.

You want to polish little as possible becuase the clear coat on our vehicles are only about two sheets of paper think (1.5-2 mils) and every time you polish part of that gets removed which reduces the protection of the paint where in the long run you will get clearcoat failure becuase it simply isn't there.

I have never heard of that before. I polish every month when I do a full detail. I'm no expert but I thought that was part of the process of detailing.

If you are needing to polish every month then you really need to change your washing habits. I polish about 3 times a year I think depending on the condition and etc. If you don't have to polish dont. Just keep adding protection and you'll be fine. Plus the more layers you have the better the look in some cases. You would need to polish 2-3 times a year just because of natural factors and claying and such. So if you are needing to do some major polishing every month (SSR2.5 or anything with a cutting pad) then check your washing techniques. If not, PwC or SSR1 a few times a year to keep the finish fresh won't do anything horrible to your CC.

On my old truck I used to use SSR 2, SSR1, and a sealant about 4 or 5 times a year because I bought it used with a lot of swirls and inbetween there I waxed (sealant or carnauba) every couple of months. On the new truck I clayed, PwC and P21S and then after a month or so I topped with Natty's. I usually end up detailing other peoples cars more than mine other than normal washing and QDing.

Thanx Budman for answering the question asked of my point.
What he said, though some European and Japanese clear is another sheet of paper thicker.
