New Bike

Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking for awhile now and after searching and reading

various answers I still have to ask;)

I just purchased a new 08 Kawasaki V2K that was produced

around Feb.08.To the touch the silver metal flake paint's feel

is very smooth.I am still debating about weather to clay or not.

I purchased the "Forum Favorite"package from Autogeek.

Which has the following items;

...The Forum Favorite Kit starts with a firm foundation of Klasse All In One and High Gloss Sealant Glaze. Then start layering on the shine with multiple coats of Pinnacle Souverän™ Carnauba Paste Wax. The finish is incredible!...

I want to give the bike the best paint protection as I can with

what I have.

My question is,should I do the claying step even though the paint appears

smooth?

With the Forum Favorite kit,should I follow the instuctions to the letter or

are there steps that I could add/delete?

Thanks

Get a plastic sandwich bag- place your hand inside and feel the paint. If it is smooth then don't bother claying - if you feel bumps, then there are bonded particles to your paint that can be removed. If the bike has very low miles or is new, my plan would be to wash and wax alone -Buy S100 cycle wash, you'll pee yourself at how clean it will get every little crevice. Then buy a good quality wax.

As far as polish goes, remove paint if the finish is flawless as it stands -if there are sratches or swirls -by all means polish- but if not, then simply protect it.
