New and Reading Forums

Hi all. I'm new to the forums. I've been doing a bit of reading trying to figure out cleaning, washing, polishing, and waxing. I've never had a "new car" before this one. And actually my Ford Five Hundred Limited had about 2,500 miles when I got her.

Fact is, I want to take care of this car and I'm totally clueless. {Imagine that. A clueless blonde!} My last car {a 95 Chevy Corsica} was lucky to get washed once or twice a year. I've learned a lot thus far reading through the many threads. I have to admit that at the same time it is all very confusing.

I doubt I'll have anything useful to add. I may have a few questions once I've read enough to even know where to begin with asking questions.

Oh. And when I was reading http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7536

the part that says Do you need an introduction to detailing? CLICK HERE to access Autopia Articles. That "CLICK HERE" link did not work for me. Has that been moved and does anyone know the correct url?

Before I forget, thanks to everyone for taking time to post here. I haven't found this much information about car care from anywhere else.

Hiya, welcome to Autopia. All of the info on this site can be a little intimidating at first, but a lot of the folks here are true professionals, and you'll pick it up quick. A great place to start is Autopia's free guide to detailing. You can grab it here:

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/freeguide.html

(some of the articles are here, too http://www.autopia-carcare.com/how-to.html)

You just need to register to access all the articles. If you have any specific questions head over to the detailing section, or autopia university and ask away. Everyone has to start somewhere. Welcome to the addiction. :)
