New 2010 Mazda CX-7

Just bought a 2010 Mazda CX-7 iSport! We traded in the 2001 Nissan Quest with 102,000 miles. The Mazda is Cooper Red. I'm looking forward to detailing a new car! Hopefully I can get a wash and wax in tomorrow before I fly off for work. But then, the Jag really needs a wash!

Never had a red car before. It is not a bright red. What wax should I use? I have Natty's Blue, Natty's Red, DP Max Wax and Souvern.

Congrats! Very neat car! I drove one home from the dealership recently. Didn't pull the trigger cause I need a truck for towing, but I really liked the CX-7.

Best of luck with the new wheels.

Stock pic until pics are posted. ;)

Thanks Tex Star, that is the one and the color. I'll go with Natty's Red. May not be able to today as I fly out for business this afternoon. As soon as I can I'll post pictures after a detail.

Thanks everyone.

I didn't not have much time and I'm recovering from a cold so I was only able to do a quick detail.

I washed with PB SSS. Dried it with a leaf blower and a WW towel with PB Spray and Wipe where needed.

I noticed a couple of spots that needed some attention. Water spots and bird bombs. Although the car is new with 21 miles it sat outside. So I broke out the PB Polish w Sealant. Great stuff! Since I had little time and was not feeling great, I did a few touch up spots with the PwS and I did the full hood or bonnet as the Brits say. All by hand. Even by hand PB PwS provides great results. :bow

I finished the rest off with ClearKote Quik Shine. I still have some from a long time back so I thought I would use it. I forgot how good this stuff is! :bigups I wished AG still sold it. I used it on the entire car including the windows.

Hopefully soon I can do a longer detail on it. I would like to use PwS on the whole car and follow with Natty's Red.

We went with a base auto and added a few options. One is roof rails that will be installed later. Getting the navigation package would have been nice but it cost so much and you can't get just the Nav. You have to get it with other features we did not care about. So, we ran to Best Buy today and picked up a Garmin for the car.

I actually looked at those back in 2007, but ended up with my 2006 MazdaSpeed 6 instead. The wife bought a 2008 CX-9 and she loves it. I liked the color you have, but she absolutely insisted on Stormy Blue Metallic and nothing else. It turned out to be a great choice as it is a fantastic color.

We have been happy with both of our vehicles. The paint does chip easily though, so be aware of that.

We looked at the Stormy Blue but at the last moment the wife decided she wanted the Cooper Red.
