Hello everyone,

My name is David i am 15 years old. I am from San Diego, California.

I would like to thank all members of autopia for providing such great information for

me.

I was inspired to detail by Eric Schuster (Toyotaguy). I figured i love cars so much why not detail them like Eric. while Eric was detailing my sister's car i began talking to Eric about myself getting into detailing, he told me that he would send me a list of things that i would need to get started. Instead i decided to do the research myself on autopia; then looked at Eric's list to see if i was missing anything. For the past 8 months i have been doing research and detailing through trial and error till the point where i am confident enough to take on any car. Feeling confident i have decided to introduce myself to autopians. I will post some of my work very soon. I am hoping to make this my career.

I would like to thank Eric for getting me started and helping through the phone with some problems i had encountered.:rockon1:.

p.s. Am i the youngest detailer on autopia?

Welcome David! Eric is definitely a good guy to learn from, his work is top notch. It's great to have you here.

Welcome David! :wavey: Great to have you! I wish there was something like Autopia when I was 15, I probably wouldve got into detailing earlier (I was 17). This is such a great hobby... ummm ...obsession :D ;) just wait until you can drive! Any way, good to have you and see around the forums.

Ahhh... The addiction starts early with this one.

I started when I was about 12. It became my job to clean and wax the family cars. (The first chore I actually liked!) I never thought about detailing for pay when I was a child, though.

My start into detailing (I didn't know it then.) was to clean the wheels in my dad's cars. He always had old Brit cars with wire wheels and I would do each wheel, and each spoke, very meticuliously. He paid me 50 cents a wheel. Boy was I underpaid!

Welcome David! Bold statement that you can take on any car, but I think boldness is well received in the US! :) All the best in your endeavour!

Posting your gear would be useful to see a selection from a different age stand point.

If you ever come to LA, you can do the wheels on my car anytime! $2.00 for the set. What a bargain! :D
