Never too old for tint....

I figured someone would say that sooner or later LOL!

I don't think even Zaino can make a windshield shine like that one! I think he smeared baby oil all over the car!!

Who says guidos don't drive Volvo's?

It just looked so vanilla, even for a Volvo.

Now it looks semi-vanilla with 50%

Did the full windshield 70% also. The glass had no graduated strip at the top, odd.

The guy that tinted these, tinted my first car back in 1987! He's still in business and doing well.

Looks great  Tinted windows always makes a car look even better plus the added benefit of keeping your interior from fading and also cooler during the summer months. Whenever I get a car that is the first thing that gets done.

Every car I've owned in the past 20 years has had window tint. I like that it's not too dark. I just think really dark tint looks cheap. Yours, on the other hand, looks fantastic! It really richens the look of your car!

Thanks guys, I think I once again have the tint bug. I'm taking one of my other cars this week. Same set-up 50% sides, 70% windshield.

What triggered me to get of the couch and do it was the recent BMW commercials on TV. In the commercial, there is a silver 3 series with light tint racing around in the snow. I thought the tint made the car.

(Add to that the fact that I'll be using this car this summer with my kids and dogs in the back. Its a potential greenhouse)

Having tint in South florida is a must .We even have a full time tinter on hand out my dealership for that reason. You may think your Volvo is vanilla but remember your driving one of the safest cars on the road today and very trouble free also. The new line of volvos have been doing great.Plus if you ever need any questions answered about your Volvo feel free to drop me a PM

Thanks for the offer, I'll send you a PM when I do. We got it back in August and haven't really used it much yet, only about 500 miles or so. I have Amsoil in it now, and just changed the factory tires out when I got the tint. (The Continental 4x4's were not too confidence inspiring in the recent snow) The interior is made of seemingly high end materials, a key purchase point for us. Now we feel that every car own needs BLIS.

Odd, but this car was a PITA to find. I had to drive to NJ to get it.

NY is not one of them, without a medical need. (Vision or skin disorders)
I just like how it looks.

I like how it looks also. I think Missouri has the medical need rule too. I could qualify for a skin disorder (Melanoma Stage 4, in remission for 5 years), but I wouldn't want to deal with getting stopped by local fuzz weekly to show them my papers!!!!

There are a ton of cars around here with really black windows. At least 20% or darker. The cops dont really break peoples balls about it.

If you add a fart can exhaust and have 3 different color body panels with that tint...its ticket time!

nice job on the tint. i was just looking at one exactly like yours when i took my wifes car i the shop last week. we have a 97 850 t5 wagon. we love our volvos....

Thanks, the car was just missing something to me. I'd like to find stiffer shocks and springs somewhere if you know of any.

This is my first Volvo. We wanted a wagon and were bouncing between an E350 wagon and a 535xi wagon. I-drive killed the BMW deal for my wife. The upcoming 2011 E-class wagon killed the deal for the MB for me as I wanted to buy this car.

The Volvo, at nearly half the price, was the steal of the decade with included 5 years free service. The interior is really nice looking. I didn't even test drive it.

How durable is this tinting ?

Do you need to treat it with special care ? If yes, how so ?

Is one manufacture's product/material superior to another ?

It's Huper Optik Ceramic tint. One of, if not the best, films.

I clean it with FK425. Works well.

Lifetime guarantee from the manufacturer and the installer guaranteed his work. (He's been in the same shop for 20+ years)

Paid $500.00, wanted no excuses and good service.

$500?

The most I ever paid was on my grand marquis and that was $150! It wasnt the same film, (which I just did a little research on and that stuff is incredible! Im guessing 90% of the cost was from the film.)

The stuff I had on my G. Marquis was high quality film as well and was one of the darkest tinted cars here in Omaha, Limo's didnt have anything on me :o
Mostly being young and dumb. I had 2 layers of 15% on the side windows, 2 layers of 5% on the rear window and 5% on the windshield.

That thing was like driving at night time, no matter when you were out! The rear window, you could stare directly at the sun and it wouldnt hurt your eyes :scared: But yes driving at night, while it was raining was pretty much impossible!

One good thing that this thread brought up, I am getting new windows in the spring for my house and i wanted to tint them. Im going to contact a few people here in Omaha to see how much it would be to use that same tint that was mentioned above!!:clap:
