Neighbors FTL

My neighbor has a cat that she treats like a dog. Really not good in the city. Don't care so much if you live in the country. Everyone in the neighborhood and even some people from outside of the neighborhood has called and complained about this damn cat.

Yesterday I was getting ready to go wash my car (pollen and the car sitting for a day and 1/2) and I noticed that she was yelling for the cat to come inside. When I walked out of my apartment the damn cat followed me to my car. I looked at the car and saw this:

Now I've asked this person to not lean on or touch my car before. I was so :furious: :hairpull I couldn't see straight. I headed right for our management office to voice my displeasure, but they weren't in despite their posted office hours. I'm going by there again tomorrow with said pictures and demanding some sort of action. I shouldn't have to buy a cover (even though I am) because of a stupid neighbor. I swear the next time something happens with her I might not be so nice.

I know how annoying cats can be. My wife has one and years ago it would always climb on my car and leave paw prints and scratches. I've known my wife for almost 10 years now and the cat has to be at least 15 years old. The good thing about older cats is they mellow out because they can't do a lot of the things they used to be able to do.

Seeing how you live in an apartment, I *assume* you do not have a garage so things like this is bound to happen. I can guarantee you this won't be the last time someone will touch or harm your car. Based on what I can see from the pics, it doesn't look like too much damage was done. It could have been worse, like some neighborhood kids keying your car or egging it.

I can understand why you're pissed, but personally I don't know if trying to resolve it will make the situation any better. Seems like these days a lot of people are crazy, inconsiderate, etc. and if they know you're very anal about your car, they'll use it to push your buttons even further. You can't let every little smudge on your car bother you too much when you have a daily driver that sits outside of an apartment complex. Maybe it's time to possibly look into another place with garage space?

Your neighbor sounds pretty graceless if they cannot catch their cat without bumping all over your car. You could always invest in a car cover to help protect your car.

what a coincidence... i washed my sisters IS today and there were paw prints on the hood from a cat as well. around fall/winter, the cats look for warmth since it's cold outside and i don't think there's much we can do about it unfortunately...

If this person would just do as she's been asked multiple times I wouldn't have this problem. Her cat is a PITA to everyone in the neighborhood.

I truly would smile as I'm cleaning up the engine compartment because she let the cat outside and it met that fate.

I might have to find a power airsoft gun or a borrow a paintball gun from someone. My Ruger might leave a mark on her and the cat...LOL

Trust me, I'd like to shoot some of the neighborhood cats with a pellet gun too (so far I only shoot them with my water hose), but considering you've had run ins with this lady before, I don't know if I'd go as far as shooting it with an airsoft or paintball gun because you'll probably be the first person she suspects. And in the event you are caught, I have a feeling that you'll have trouble getting people to side with you on your justification for shooting a cat. You'll look like the crazy one instead. That's just my opinion.

My neighbors called the police on me today when I cut down their illegal fence. I win. :P

Seriously though; scare the cat off the car once or twice and odds are it won't come back. I'd let the neighbor know they are responsible for any damage their cat causes to your car.

yeah, it could be worth a couple of tries and maybe the cat will get the hint. other than that, if it doesn't move when you see it, you could try using a spray bottle with water and maybe that may do the trick as well...

Truly I hope the complex makes her get rid of the cat. I don't see this particular neighbor changing her ways anytime soon. Good news is that I've got new neighbors that are officers. Maybe they can help with this situation.

I want to resolve this as peacefully as possible. I may have to call animal control and have them come trap the cat.
