Neglected 99 CLK-320 (tons of big pics!)

Doctors car. He's had it 3 years or so, barely washed, never waxed.

Turned out good after 6 hours of work. He and his wife both said "you gave us a new car!" when I dropped it off.

My before pics don't show off the neglect that well, but it was a fight to the finish.

The wheels needed to be removed and clayed twice, along with using some fairly harsh cleaner to get them where they are (I'm still not happy with them, but I spent almost an hour on them). (Bold N Bright on tires, NoTouch foam on wheelwells)

The car chewed through 4oz of fresh clay. First pass or two felt like I was using sandpaper on the car, worst I've ever felt.

Interior was typical, needed a good scrubbing on most plastic surfaces due to etched in dirt. There were also marks on some of the trim which you'll see which are almost like shoe scuffs.. NOTHING could take these off. (Treated with 303, including trim)

Car was swirled and scratched up, I got all the swirls out, but some scratches remained. Time for a rotary I guess. (I used SSR2.5, Optimum Compound/Polish, AIO, NXT)

Engine got scrubbed with simple green, and dressed with CD-2.

PICS!

I've used CD-2 for YEARS. Probably since ~2000 or so, before I was even an Autopian.

The stuff is worth its weight in gold... well not really, but it really does work awesome. Even novices can buy CD2's kit, and get great results.

Thanks for all the props on the car.

Here's another interior pic..

The mats aren't really dirty, they are just a different shade than the rest of the carpets.

One last exterior pic..

What an incredible difference! The paint looks noticably darker and deeper. :bow

I can't believe anyone can let a car that nice get so bad in the first place. :nervous2:

Thanks again.

I had about 6-7 hours in the car. I was able to get the car washed/clayed, and the wheels done RIGHT as the rain started to hit, by the time it ended, it was just time to pull it out of the garage, and by the time I buffed it finally, the roads were dry enough to take it home.

Thanks to this detail, I now have a few other cars to do. However, racing season is upon us so I have to take June off from any more details. I shall be back in July though. :)

His wife has a newer BMW 330ci, and although she "washes" it (takes it through the touchless place once a week) the wheels are a mess just like these ones were. It will need a total transformation like this one.
