I am currently a freshman in college, gonna be living in a house next year. Hopefully it will have a garage, not positive yet. Anyway, I will absolutely have to have my detailing supplies with me, but I will also need to take them all home sometimes too. I have a truck, so it would be easy to put larger cabinets in the bed. I just need somethat, almost like a tool chest, to hold all my stuff. Needs to be neat and organzied when in the garage at school or home, but easy to move back and forth. Any ideas?

It really depends on your on how you intend to use them. How much stuff will you be storing/transporting? Will it need to be lockable and secure (sitting in the bed of your truck unattended)? Will you be constantly moving things in and out?

Tool chests tend to be heavy, large and awkward but they are very easy to use, rugged and organized. They also tend to be laid out for hand tools, not necessarily the best arrangement for bottles, towels and power tools.

Toolboxes are portable but also usually set up for hand tools so they're rugged but often limited in volume and the price will add up as you get enough volume for lots of products.

My preference is tote bins. They're voluminous, quite sturdy and very easy to carry, transport and store. Consumer versions are cheap and easily available at Depot, Costco, etc (usually the 12 gallon size). The consumer units are usually translucent so it's easy to identify what's in them and grab the ones you want without opening the lid. Commercial totes are usually sturdier but opaque and are available in more sizes. Either type is stackable.

PC.

How about a large Pelican type case. You could use a cable lock to secure it to the truck bed through the handles.
