Need some pointed advice

I own a black 08 m35X, a PC, 2 each white, orange, black and bklue pads. 4* Spot repair polish, Ultima Paint Prep, 4* final polish and Ultima Paint gurd plus.



I cant seem to get the results I want (swirl free finish). I think my marring is light, but I either can get it out or i put it back in. i wash with the 2 BM, GG, lambs woll wash mits.



Do i need more of a cut? or a better finish step?

I'm guessing that those are 5-6.5" pads for the PC. I can never get good/timely correction via PC unless I use 4" pads.



BUT...I know *nothing* about your particular paint and I've never used the 4-Star Spot Repair Polish.... so :nixweiss



But I can't help but wonder if it's the right product for the job and whether you wouldn't do a *LOT* better with the 4" pads.

Washing via the 2BM is better than the way most people do it, but IMO it's only the barest tip of the iceburg when it comes to washing in a marring-free manner. Same ol' same ol' if there's dirt on a panel, and you press a mitt against it and then *move* said mitt under pressure, the dirt gets ground against the paint and you get marring.

There oughta be some way to determine whether the marring is being caused by your PC efforts. Most wash/dry/etc.-induced marring looks different from the (hopefully micro-)marring caused by using aggressive products via PC.



I'd *guess* that you're not getting the original marring out...



But again, I don't know from your paint so that really is just a guess.

Thanks, I will try the 4" pads first then see if the results are better. Then we can get more aggresive on the polish if necessary.

Yeah, but the product isn't the point. You'll get to interact with a bunch of people who have experience polishing cars. You'll get to see people polishing, ask questions, practice, etc. And people can look at your car. In-person demos, opinions, and instruction are worth a thousand threads.
