Attn. Tampa area pro detailers:

I'm exhibiting our paint touchup kit--Google "Applied Colors" to learn more---at the Mobile Tech Convention (Mobile Tech Expo) at the Harborview Convention Center in Clearwater, FL on Fri. January 18 and Saturday January 19 and need sales help at my booth. There will be thousands of attendees and only me in the booth, so I'm in need of help! :doh

I'll brief you on the products for 2 hours, then you'll work the booth on Friday and Saturday. You don't need to be an expert, but should know enough to answer basic questions. Refer customers on to me for advanced questions. You'll receive $20 an hour: 7 hours on Friday (10 am - 5 pm) and 6 hours on Friday (10 am - 4 pm) = $260. You'll also be paid for the brief training session.

This is a great opportunity for a pro detailer because:

1. You will get free admission to the premiere convention for auto detailers and reconditioners.

2. You will exercise and improve your sales skills.

3. You will meet CRITICAL contacts in the detailing industry.

4. You will learn and demonstrate professional scratch repair.

5. You will be paid a fair wage.

Please post here or PM if interested. The MTE is fast approaching!

Have you checked the local "dance clubs" and Hooters? Tampa has PLENTY, maybe bringing some eye candy in and informing it on your product would draw some attention?

Its a car product, not life insurance, image is nothing....

I have three options for booth help:

1. A detailer/reconditioner from Autopia. This is my first choice, as the techs attending the show will relate best with another tech.

2. A pro salesman. There are "hired guns" who will sell anything anywhere for a fee. But when it gets technical ("Is wetsanding required? What about deep metallic scratches?") they hit a dead end.

3. Eye candy (Hooters, bartenders, car show models). They bring people to the booth, but if the guy who can demo the product and answer the questions is tied up by three other customers, the people walk away.

It's a bit of a long shot to find someone here on Autopia, but worth trying.

Still debating going to the event, but honestly, I'd rather see the exhibits and listen to the seminars than work a booth. Maybe an Autopian enthusiast instead of a pro would work out better.

Understandable. The job only makes sense for a Florida local who'd like to attend the event, meet some people, and make some money. To fly in and work the booth is not worth it.
