I've asked alot of questions on this site and have done alot of research, and am finally ready to order the pads, pc, and 3M materials.

It says down by comments that if I want to use other pads, which I do, i need t use the 6" contour backing pad and counterweight. I know i need the counterweight, but do i need the backing pad if CMA offers the 6" velcro back up plate in their kit. Isn't the backing pad and velcro back up plate the same thing. Thanks, need answers quick.
