Need new products for Audi paint

Hi all. I've been searching and reading around some, but can't seem to find any definitive answers, so I thought I'd ask and see what you all think. I have a 2007 Audi with fairly hard to correct paint that somehow mars incredibly easy. Right now I am using a Griot's DA, LC Orange + M105, LC White + 205, then Duragloss 105.

The M105 dusts like crazy (common issue evidently) and that combo barely cuts it to get full correction on my paint. I'm not even sure how much the 205/white pad adds, and while I realize it leaves behind some oils, the DG 105 has cleaners in it that should take care of the oils, and I like how easy it is to use and the results I get.

So, I'm thinking about getting some M100 to do my correcting, but I am not sure which pad...Meg's MF cutting? Something else? An entirely different pad/polish combo? Open to suggestions here.

Also looking for a good finishing pad for the harder paint either to use with the 205, or again a totally new polish and pad combo.

I'm not married to any of these products. The 105 is going in the trash as I just can't live with the dusting. I feel like 100 with the right pad could get me 90% of the way there with the right pad, and I'd like to know what I can add to finish down to that 90+% range.

Thanks in advance for the input!

Try the MF system with the MF compound. Cut well on my hard VW paint when I had it. Now I've got the darn soft honda paint!

TBomb06- The only Audis with soft/easy-to-mar clear that I know of were a run of blue S4s from a few years ago.  Since yours is hard to correct, it's simply *hard* and when it seems easy-to-mar that just goes to show you how vulnerable *all* autopaint is!

I corrected all my current vehicles (including the Audis) with M105, and I didn't have any significant dusting issues- other cars sat nearby without getting coated with dust, just wasn't a problem.  But hey, that's just me and if the M105 dusts for you then I'd solve two problems with one purchase by buying some M100 or M101.  Both will cut faster than the M105 and so you'll do less work, which oughta lead to less dust.

I too am disenchanted with M205, *GREATLY* preferring HD Polish, which I even like better than my previous fave 1Z High Gloss.

Yeah, the MF Cutting Disks (I use Meguiar's) work better for me than the LC Orange, and they're easier to clean (gotta clean clean clean with all of these products; I clean several times per panel).  I've also done surprisingly well with the maroon Meguiar's foam cutting pads (both thei older 7006 and the new-tech one).

No way I can overstate the need to clean the pads out frequently.  I spend more time inspecting and cleaning pads than I do running the polisher, no question about it.

I finish out OK on Audi clear with most any polishing pad (using a finishing polish that is!) and I only use a finishing pad when I'm doing some Autopian-style burnishing.  With the HC Polish you shouldn't have to be *too* concerned about which pad you use, just use something that has no cut in-and-of itself.

Oh, and do *not* expect something like DG105 to remove polishing oils, especially not those in M205.  But if you switch to HD Polish that won't be an issue anyhow  ;)
