Need help with protection on a truck tarp

My dad has a black tarp over the bed of his truck. For looks I guess. The dealer told him not to use Armour All on it or any product that contains alcohol. So my question is what do you like for cleaning/protecting this exterior tarp?

If the tarp is topped with a plastic layer, I'd recommend Lexol's Vinylex. I've used it on all exterior rubber and plastic cladding and on the soft tonneau that comes on some Ford Lightnings and from my experience you can expect somewhere around 4-6 months protection before another application is necessary.
