OK.... I'm beyond stumped here. this guy came into the shop early this afternoon and wheeled and dealed me into accepting this monstrosity. I won't say the price because I was a friggin fool to do it at all much less for the price I agreed to. This thing is a white ford F350 cab with a aluminum and fiberglass box. It's about 30' long 9' high and 8-1/2' wide and about as oxidized as anything can get. He wanted it wheeled out. It's all gel coat and I swear I've hit this thing with everything I have in the shop. From my compounds to my cleaner waxes. Ruined a synthetic pad and a wool pad so far. I've been at it with my guys for about 3-1/2 hours and we might have gotten about 1/4 of one side done maybe. Nothing at all is working on this thing. I'm getting extreamly splotchy results at best. But unfortunatly I think I'm beyond calling the customer and telling him that I just can't get it done. Is there any effective product or process out there for gel coated fiberglass? I'm done for the night but I gotta get right back at it first thing in the morning before my tomorrow appointments come in.
