NEED HELP! Thanks

Guys, I ordered my stuff through a web site that handles Meg's Pro line, I have #85, #84 and #1 coming in this week. My plan is to start with #1 on the (LC)yellow pad, using a PC. If it works on the first pass, I'll do the other scratched areas then use WG swirl remover (yellow pad) on the rest of the car followed by WG glaze (gray pad) and topped with WG sealer by PC. If it doesn't work, I'll bump up to #84 or even #85 if I need to, even though I've been told a PC just can't make #85 work - we'll see (if need be)! Honestly, I really don't want to do this level of work, I would rather stick to clearing up swirls/water spots and bird bombs, but this guy is the computer guru at a big multi dealership company and could send me a lot of welcomed business if he's happy with the result. He knows I made no promises since this was my first expirence with a problem like this. I appreciate your thoughts, DETAIL CITY helps guys like me, those "other" forum folks just ignor you.

You have ordered products that are intended for use with a rotary.
That may cause you some problems.
What I have read is that the PC will not generate enough heat to break down the abrasives properly.
The result being severe marring.
You may get yourself into big trouble!
You may become one of the guys they talk about when they refer to someone really screwing up someone's paint job.
My personal opinion is that you will regret this project.
If you do go ahead with it, be sure to try a small area first and see if you improve or damage the paint. The less conspicuous the better.

Maybe Charles, but my man wants me to try first and I'll do that. He's already set to have the car repainted and if I can save him that expense then we both win. Meg's #1 is rated one notch above #83 so it can't be that much of leap. Maybe I'll squirt some XMT#3 on the pad as extra lube. The more I think about a little wet sanding (with a block) using some 2000 - 2500 grit paper, the more I like the idea. Then hit it with #1 followed by WG swirl remover, glaze and sealer. AND I AM GOING TO BUY A ROTARY! Another buddy of mine has a junkyard.

I don't think it is so much the abrasiveness difference as it is the difference in the type of abrasive. My understanding is that the products for rotary use need the heat from the rotary to break down the abrasives properly.
Anyway, good luck and keep us posted on how things work out.

Thanks Charles, I hope to git r done by Saturday. I feel confident things will work out, now that's scary!

See the other thread with the guy and the white BMW, those scratches ain't didley compared to the mess I got to work on. The owner is pretty sure he's going to have to get a paint job. So, I really ain't got nothing to lose by trying. I'll experiment with the Meg's products I have coming in and report back Sunday morning. I hope I shock and awe ya'll with that!
