Hey i just started a mobile business well im trying to start one. I just need to work my craftsman vaccum and my polisher for now so if u guys have any ideas please feel free to comment it will be appreciated.

Thanksssssss;)

A good carpet extractor around that price from what i hear is the aztec hot rod. A generator would probably be honda en2500 i believe is the model.

thanks man i heard something about a bissel green machine or something i dont remember what do you think about that??? and the honda generator is real expensive man but they tell me they are great

You stated "not in the 500 dollar range" for the extractor. Does that mean you want to spend more, or less than $500 ?

I was thinking the bissell at one point to--but realized I might be at it forever with something that small...plus my concern is that it doesn't seem to be designed for constant use...(i could be wrong)

I bought a bissell 5 years ago, went thru 3 in 6 months, there all plastic and the heads break off easy. At a $100 a pop X 3, thats almost half the cost of a Mytee extractor lite...

Whatever equipment you buy, pls ensure:

1. Easy availability of reasonably-priced spare parts.

2. Highly accessible repair/service facilities.

a lot of people seem to like the Mytee--I'm kind of curious as to what's so special about it?

The Mytee or any other high end extractor compared to the Bissell is like apples to oranges... Higher quality, durable, hotter water temp, more suction, stronger water injection and so on...

oh i never intended on comparing it to the bissell, but mytee seems to be the exractor i'm hearing more often on forums was just wondering if there was anything particularly good about them

oh but i digress, i mean...for car MATS a lot of people pressure wash them, try to get out as much of the water using w.e. method and then air dry

i mean...you could use a steamer and products to do the interior of cars--there was someone that said that the products taht work with the steamer pretty much make the dirt and stuff rise to the top so the mf you wrap around the steamer picks it up--but on a dirty car, I just have trouble seeing this being an efficient route.... esp if you're doing this for a business (well a legitimate) I would just buy the good extractor and save the receipt for the tax write off...

I've said a few things in other threads about the Bissel. In short, it's an OK machine, and for the price, it does what you should expect to do. However, for professional use, it has no place other than sitting on the shelf for "emergency" situations where your actual extractor breaks down and you're stuck.

Mytee is a popular make for several reasons. They're very reasonably priced being the first and foremost. The parts they use in their models are also of high quality. Their pump is a SHURFLO with automatic back-pressure shut down (if you have the pump powered but aren't running solution through the line (spraying with the trigger), the pump shuts off instead of constantly running and burning itself out because of excess pressure build-up). Their connections are higher quality quick-couplers than you see on other extractors. Their heater is in-line vs an element inside the tank, so you don't have to wait for the entire solution tank to heat up. Their entire housing is a nice and sturdy, yet soft molded plastic (it doesn't scratch the walls of my shop like other extractors do, and it also wipes clean much easier than other extractors).

The list goes on depending on who you talk to and their own personal experience. In my opinion, there are probably other extractors out there that might be better, or as good, as a Mytee. For example, US Products makes what seems to be some good units (I saw them this year at the Car Care World Expo in Vegas), including one model that has a 3-stage vacuum. However, where these other manufactures fail is in price, most comparative models were 20% to 30% more expensive than Mytee.

So in the end, as long as you're getting a quality extractor (read: spending more than $500), you should be fine with most manufactures out there. Mytee simply seems to be the "best bang for your buck".

Wondering how things are going for you? I've been doing this for about 3 years now and business is good... not great, but good!. I would love to answer any questions if you have anymore.

I use a Bissel for now while I'm saving for something better. For the price it works great but I have a few complaints about it. First is if you're not holding the head directly against the surface you are cleaning and pull the trigger the spray goes EVERYWHERE and gets all over everything you just cleaned. Second is the hose is too short and you need to set the machine inside the vehicle and it gets in your way. Third is it needs to be refilled every 5 minutes if you're doing any kind of heavy cleaning with it. I can't wait till I get a Mytee or something else.

I have the Mytee as well... Works great and they are very cheap to be repaired when needed. I've heard lots of bad things about the Bissel products so I tried to stay away. I own 3 of the Mytee's actually... You can find them on craigslist for super cheap. I got one of them for $50 and it only cost me another $50 to have serviced and it works great. I know 3 may be a lot, but it's wishful thinking. One day I will have 3 mobile units to go along with them.

I have a mytee and it to can spay a little water outside its path, but no where near bad as a bissel. To combat what little water does excape, I do the seats first. I do a lot of repo cars and most of the int are awful, so %90 of the cars I do, I take the seats out and that makes it a little easier
