An old detail vet told me there is a chemical that he used at his old shop for cleaning carpets and interiors. He said he could not recall the name but it was a chemical that they used in dry cleaning and martinizing establishments. He said it was a liquid and was awesome for cleaning carpets and headliners. Anyone know what this is?

I asked the guy if this was it and he was not sure, he didn't seem to think so but he said it was more like a wax, could this be it? What do you know about it and is it a good product to use?

Probably was Perc

The most dangerous of the wastes in dry-cleaning comes from the use of perchloroethylene or PERC as the primary dry-cleaning agent. PERC has been found to cause cancer and can damage the liver and nervous system. There are also a variety of spotting and cleaning agents used in dry-cleaning that may require care while handling and disposing.
