Whats up everyone. .it has been a while since I posted on here.

Im in a bit of a pinch and was looking for any ideas.

I have held the number 1 spot on yelp in my area for 4 years.

that site drives all of my business so I have to have high standards.

Im sure all can relate that finding good employees is a pain.

Well that has been my biggest issue..i was growing fast but the help I was getting was not even coming close to quality service an my customers were starting to get upset.. then I had a guy steal from a customers house and that put me over the edge.. I fired everyone and took a step back.

Went back to one car a day by myself.. did that for an entire summer and was so much more relaxed an stress free.. I would be still doing it now but doing the work of 2 to 3 men has caught up with me and I have injured my body from working to hard.. my doors have been closed while I heal for about 2 months now and the work is still pouring in.. when I was working I was booked 7 days a week sometimes 2months in advance and was turning down corp contracts left and right due to the lack of manpower.

So I have been trying to find a buyer or another company to merge with so my customers have someone they trust but I cant even find a good company to merge with.. either their not detailing correctly or have bad customer service.. .my customers are still relying on me to pass the torch to someone good.

So since I cant work I have hardly any money coming in.. I need to make moves and fast.. so just looking for any ideas..

Thanks in advance for all your help.

This sounds like a great opportunity for someone. You will need to try to train someone from the beginning. I recommend to not hire detailers, as a lot of them think they are the cat's meow, and may have some bad habits to break. Find a car person, and if you want to sell the company, offer a long term buyout plan for them. This will provide you with some long term income, and a dedicated employee.

I agree that hiring people who already have detailing experience are a nightmare to employ. Most detailers are drama queens anyways and when you're telling them to stop doing what they've been doing they get defensive and butthurt. Although it can be a longer term investment, hiring someone with no experience but the right attitude can make all the difference. If I can help it, I will never hire someone "experienced" again.

as far as hiring people im done.. im trying to find a buyer or someone else to be the boss man and hire people.

i have tried people with and without experience .. old.. young.. military .. not one has made it past 2 months.. when i catch myself repeating my process over and over again to them or catching spots they miss then they are just wasting my time cause i have to redo the work anyway.

i have tried dent repair guys.. other detailers.. auto body shops... some say its to much work for them to handle and they are a small business and not looking to expand.. some of the other detailers just would not have good customer service or communication skills. .so again i wont waste time bringing the work to them..even some of my customers expressed their interest. .but when it was time to get the ball rolling and contracts going they just kept stalling or not letting me know what the deal is.. so i move on... i contact like 2 companies a day.. some reply.. some i get nothing..

you would figure in this econmy i would have no issues giving away work that comes to me.. without any use of marketing.
