Need Comments/Criticism on Big order.

Hello everyone, I have been reading the site for a while and while there is still so much to learn, I need to make my first large detailing order. :D I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some comments on things to add, remove, or change from the list.

Buffer:

PC 7336sp from lowes

6" velcro backing plate from top of the line

6(2 of each) Lake country 6"pads+ 1 orange(do I need more/less?)

Polishes etc.:

#83 DACP 32oz.

#82 SFP 32oz.

#34 FI QD 16oz.

Mirror glaze show car glaze(unsure about this one)

Meguiars claybar 2 pack

AIO/SG 16oz.

Hi-tech yellow wax 16oz. liquid

As you can see I have gone mostly meguiars because from what I read they are the most user friendly and easily accessible. I am open to comments on that though.

Interior:

303 Vinyl protectant(unsure on this also)

Lexol leather cleaner

Lexol leeather conditioner

Towels:

PakShak MF x10

PakShak WW x1

Sheepskin washmitts x3

Items I already have:

Gold class car wash, EO wet wash

Viking cotton chenille mitts

3 pakshak MF and 1 WW

tons of old terry towels

Applicators, tire swipes, tire wet

Megs MPPP

EO A2Z EO nevr-dull

window cleaner

I didn't think I would any carpet cleaner yet because the car is only 2 mths. old.

The car is a 04 Jet Black BMW 330ci, if that changes anything as far as the polishes and such go.

Thanks, any help is appreciated

:)

Chocaine,

Your list is pretty good, but here's a few comments/opinions you may want to consider:

-In lieu of the leather cleaner consider a 6 to 1 mixture of water & woolite

-I believe #83 may be a little too aggressive for a 2 month old car

-You won't need a "show glaze" (#7?) if you're going the AIO/SG route

-#34 is a good QD and you can use it for "spritzing" in the application and buffing of SG, but, in addition consider #51 FD, it's pretty popular if you're going to be topping SG with a carnuba wax as is CK's Quickshine and others.

-Meg's clay isn't the best, consider Mother's clay or Clay Magic

Good luck with the new BMW and post some pictures soon.

Well since you have a black car, I would skip the Klasse and go with Clearkote's Vanilla Moose Glaze and Poorboy's EX. Then wait a day and top with Carnauba Moose Wax. The Klasse is good for lighter colored cars IMO and brings out a great shine on yellow, silver, white, and grey cars. But it wont really make a black car look wet like it should IMO. Check out this thread and see what I mean

~One man’s opinion, observation~

Under the (Reviews) section that includes the Hall of Fame, where contributing members have posted their evaluation of products, try a search on Bill North; there is almost everything you ever wanted to ask/know about the Klasse twins

“6" Velcro backing plate from top of the line, 6(2 of each) Lake country 6"pads+ 1 orange (do I need more/less?) My only comment on this would be that you might want to consider 6’5 pads on a 6 backing plate to give a ‘margin of error’

~Hope this helps~

Experience unshared; is knowledge wasted…/

justadumbarchitect * so i question everything*

Those pics look great Jimamary, but I am still not convinced that Klasse has a wetter look than Clearkote's lineup with Poorboy's EX. I have Klasse in my arsenal but it is reserved for lighter color cars where the wet look isnt really necessary. Klasse does work great on green cars though!

I've decided to eliminate the show car glaze but keep the DACP for future use. I am going to go the klasse route for durability and top with UPP. I am also going to get the 6.5" pads instead of the 6.

Now the hard part, waiting for spring.

Thanks

ditch the glaze

get mother's clay instead of megs

I would get the **7.5"*** Lake Country Pads

Get the polisher from coastal tool, because it comes with a backing plate and a 6" counter weight (which you will need to reduce vibrations w/ 6" or 7.5" pads)

Keep the DACP

You can use the 303 for the tires

Jeeper, the website says that I would need the special backing plate to use the 7.5" pads. Do I also need the regular 6" velcro pad in addition to this. Do the 7.5 inch pads offer a large advantage over the 6.5"?
