Need Advice on Pad Types and Qty Needed

I will admit that I am new to machine polishing but am excited to get involved. I currently have a Honda Accord Coupe and was seeking advice on the type of pads to buy for my Porter Cable 7424xp.



I can get SM Arnold 6in pads for roughly half the price of Lake County pads....would it be beneficial to go the SM Arnold route vs LC pads due to the price or am I making a mistake? Does SM Arnold make decent polishing Pads?



How many pads should I get of each type; either LC or SM Arnold.



For polish I would be going with M105, M205 or Pinnacle XMT products.

Your going to get a more accurate answer if (A) you can post some pictures of what your car looks like and (B) tell the group what your 'goal' is (ie remove scratches, swirls or just polish it up a bit.

Thanks for the reply, my car overall is in great shape, not oxidized, just typical swirl marks from hand washing over the past 5 years (its an 05). I am looking to get rid of the swirl marks and overall polish the paint out. I'd take some pics but I don't have my car on hand right now.



I was also interested in getting some feedback about the quality of SM Arnold pads vs LC for twice the price. I can get SM Arnold 6" pads for about $4 ea vs LCs for around $9
