Need advice on good wax and sealant that will last

Good advice given in this thread...

I am getting ready to put my 'Bee away soon and am doing the Dawn/Clay then a wax or sealant treatment.

Probably do Klasse then a coat of Opti-seal.

Just coming in to warm up a bit as it's a little chilly here in central MA today.

HD Nitro Seal will last longer than 6 months easy not to mention how much better the look is.

Yep, I can vouch for that. My test vehicle is black and sits outside 24/7. Still holding up after 10 months.

Yep, from reports NS will last that long, but I'd lump it into the coating dept.

Why? It's a hybrid sealant wax.

Durability, price per application, and method of application. You could argue the first step is in fact a coating and the top coat is a beauty wax.

While I'm all about FK1000P these days, I'm still using Collinite on one of my (winter) cars and I think the 845 is just what you're after. The 476S Paste Wax is a bit more durable, but the 845 is just *SO* user-friendly! You can even use it on black plastic trim (just buff it off before it dries completely when using it on trim).

i'll second that. i just did my black plastic on my car and it came out great and i'm sure it'll last.

Ever tried any of the Swissvax line? Can get very expensive but if paint was cleansed before application, results will be jaw breaking :nervous2:

Sorry Dan, I have to disagree.

The first step has no durability on its own. It simply wets the surface with solvents and a small percentage of step 2.

Without step 2 you'll have no protection. Step 1 is to anchor step 2, that's all.

This process is the reason for the incredible durability and it being confused with a coating.

It's a hybrid wax/sealant with coating properties, but it's NOT a coating. :up
