I need to travel to orlando next week which is in the heart of lovebug country - what would you do for the front of the car ? painters tape? or collonite 845? two or three coats?

Duplicolor makes a spray on temp bra. I've used it in the past, works great, just wash off when you get home. try autozone, pepboys, o'rielys, advanced auto. Pam cooking spray also works just as good. spray on liberaly.

So I called some friends up there and the lovebugs don't come out for another 45 days so I'm good for the normal amt of crap going up. But now which would you do - 2 coats of BFWD or 2 coats of #845?

I have not used BFWD so I don't have an answer for you. Just guessing but I'd say it would be hard to go wrong with either one.

Glen, If your car is already wearing BF, I would go with BWFD. But #845 is tough as well and one of my favs.

If I remember correctly Wolf's makes a water based temporary spray on clear bra. I have been meaning to look it up myself.

I've seen this covered many times on these forums, and this was one of the proven and tested solutions.

I tested the "Chemical Guys Extreme Bodywash & Synthetic Gloss Enhancing Shampoo" and found it to work better than some bug and tar pre-treatments that I've tried. I normally I would never recommend a product that I haven't used but CG makes a heavy duty bug shampoo that would be worth trying: Chemical Guys Bug Bugger Heavy-Duty Shampoo
