Nattys blue over UPP

I just put 2 coats of UPP after using AIO and my black car looked great. Then i went over the hood with Natty blue and it looked terrible, you could see all fine scratches and everything. It seemed the UPP filled the fine scratches in but when i put Natty blue it made everything really noticable. What am i doing wrong, is this a good combo? Will i notice a big difference if i use natty blue over UPP?

That's odd. I had regular Natty's on my metallic blue car. Last week I used AIO/SG. All the swirls from last winter were very noticable. Natty's has some swirl hiding properties. I would think that the Blue version would have similar results.

Interesting results you got with the Natty's blue. Sorry you've had that problem. Natty's Blue has always looked amazing over any glazes/sealants or waxes I've put it over on my black truck.

here is a pic you can see marring where the flash hits the car. It looked alot better when i had just UPP and no Nattys. I bought it because i thought it would hide slight marring but it didnt. Would another coat help?

Well it all comes down to Prep. If your trying to live with swirls and marring then you have to live with them I found that on the Black TA I do it hides but I only use nuba's on it.

Ill take some more pics outside under the sun and not under flouresent lights of my garage and see if it looks better. I always herd the Natty Blue will make it look wetter then just UPP.

Is it possible that you got some dirt or something on the applicator? I had a similar problem last year. I did a car in a garage that wasnt lit well. When I rolled out into the sun, there were marks everywhere that matched the directions I applied the wax. Sure enough when I looked at the foam pad real close, I found a little piece of debris. I dont know what it was. It wasnt right on the surface, but if you pressed hard it would poke out and scratch a little.

I had to polish the entire car to get them out. Every since then, Ive been extremely careful whenever I use foam pads.

Yeah, I too wonder if something happened while applying/removing the Natty's. I haven't used that, but I have used UPP many times and I never thought that UPP hid anything. I would've expected marring to be better hidden by the Natty's.

I'm thinking this is it.. or the prep stage did not 'remove' swirls / scratches.

I did the compound work, then hit this truck with UPP x 2 , and Natty's x 1

and its better than showroom condition.. not a blemish on it whatsover :nixweiss

:nixweiss UPP is something I don't top because I like the look of it the way it is. However, I am not particularly fond of it on black so I use other products.

It does seem strange though, that Natty's would make any swirls more obvious because it does have minor filling ability.
