Name your favorite non-cleaner wax

Really does depend what products I've used before it, what colour the car is etc etc, whether durability or ultimate finish is requested, what price range etc...

For durability, my choice is Collinite 476S - would be my direct replacement for #16.

For cracking finish at a reasonable cost, my choice is Clearkote Carnuaba Moose Wax, ideally following the Yellow Cream Wax.

My true favourite wax, if money is no object, right now is Swissol Best of Show - gorgeous deep wet look shine from it, deepens the paint beautifully and also smells great into the bargain. Yet to try Swissol Mystery (though I do now own it :) ), so this may well become my favourite. :)

Souveran, Natty's Blue, CG 5050 just to name a few pastes(I have only used Souveran). You would really want to use pastes as a topper instead of liquids, as the solvent content in the liquid would remove some or all of the product under it.

great responses, keep them coming - sure wish I had some of the #16 stashed away, bummer. I know I can get it from eShine on sale today for $16.00 but the $15.00 shipping is too much and was hoping to find something comparable to it that is more readily available.

Thanks everyone

Besides the stash of #16 the two I reach for most often are Souveran (for looks) and Collinite 476S. I keep thinking I'd like to use some Malm's for old time's sake, not sure if anybody else would appreciate it compared to other liquids like 845 though.

In the past I have used their Speed Wax for quickies by hand......the temptation is high to try their paste wax.

Also besides the old standards I really do like the looks of BF's new paste...longevity to be determined.

3Dog..are you talking about the 125.00 a jar paste wax....the concentrated one..I was on thier site just the other day and seen the wax....It was an interesting read..but a little to rich for me...seems like they will only sell it to past users of their liquid wax..and a 8-10 week wait..

But like I said..it was a good read on the wax....

Yeah thats it...Extreme something. The temptation is great.

I do love the Klonski (?) Speed waxer too..I put Cyclo boots on it to use different pads.

Hi Dave, or you going to do a review of the "Swissol" wax/products ?

I'm really interested in the longevity of there wax sense the carnuba content is very high in all.

PS. The Chemical Guys 50/50 arrived today.

Is the solvent content in the "Liquid wax" really high enough to cause Klasse SG to fail, that just doesn't sound right and I have never heard it mentioned before.

I would really like to hear more about this.

Noting that a) I haven't tried all that many noncleaning liquid waxes (I can think of four), b) solvent contents do vary, and c) some application methods are more aggressive than others, I've never had a problem from applying a (noncleaning) liquid wax on top of anything, not even presumably delicate glazes. I never topped KSG with a liquid, but I'd be astounded if the liquid wax compromised cured KSG.

I've experienced (what I interpreted as) layering with liquid waxes, and if they don't effect a solvent action on themselves (after curing) then I sure wouldn't expect them to effect it on KSG.

Also, consider that my windshield washer fluid has never compromised my KSG, even in the winter when I've used a *lot* of it; I'd expect the washer fluid to be much harder on LSPs than a liquid wax.

A *very* high-solvent LSP like 1Z Glanz Wax would probably do something to underlying products, but I've never tried it (in great part for this very reason).
