My wild Saturday night...

I use Klasse AIO/SG and was wondering what to do the next time I want to detail my car (starting over). If I want to use the AIO again, do I need to do something to remove all the SG first? Or can I just start with the Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion (after washing of course) then do the AIO and SG?

Now that I have a little more knowledge and experience using this stuff, I want to try it all again. I think I can do a better job next time. I want to do more than one coat of the AIO this time. I used 3 coats of SG last time but only one of the AIO.

Also, I realize that I'm supposed to use the AIO on one section at a time, how long should I leave it on each section before buffing off?

i know the AIO will remove the old SG....but youve listed alot of steps there...wash...PPCL...AIO...SG...ive read alot of posts here where people think AIO cleans fantastic...so the PPCL is not needed...plus...wouldnt the AIO remove the PPCL you just put on...as for me...next spring i want to try out the ABC system...i really am interested in trying this out....especially after a long winter...i hate claying alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D so i think what u do depends on how long from now your talking about taking the klasse off...if you mean like now...then i think the AIO will do fine.....but.........i never used klasse...so wait alittle and someone who knows what the heck they're talking about will post soon....all of the klasse users here are excellent guys who know lots of tricks to deal with it...

I did the ABC on my son's VW yesterday. The A works great, got old Klasse off easily. The B, I'm not really sure about. The horizontals still needed to be clayed. The C is a pretty good car wash.

Got a couple of Klasse questions I'd like to tack on myself, if you guys don't mind..

One was Klasse on Glass (like the sound of that ;)) - I read some posts where people put Klasse (AIO only, I presume) on all the glass surfaces, exterior and interior. Does anyone here know if it was supposed to be only AIO, or also SG as well? Can anyone attest to how well Klasse works on glass? Seems like the results were mixed, but very few results lead me to believe that maybe someone didn't apply properly.

Two - when you're done AIO'ing a surface, with a couple of coats, how should it feel? Mine felt pretty slick - almost gave me the impression that AIO didn't do it's job, and SG wouldn't bond properly to the surface. New car - I had washed it, clayed it with Mothers, and buffed it down prior to the AIO. Then - gave it two coats of AIO and three coats of SG (granted, not waiting long between the first two, but left the third overnight). The results were outstanding, prior to that third coat of SG which I still haven't wiped off yet.

Next stop - rest of the car and the wheels..

You can put AIO on glass. I would recommend exteriors only and skip the windshield.

AIO is a cleaner and a sealant combined like a Cleaner wax. The surface should feel slick after AIO since the surface was polished and now has a layer of sealant as well. Multiple layers of AIO are IMHO unnecessary unless your paint prep could use the extra polishing. AIO won't layer. Each successive layer removes the last and puts down its own layer. SG on the other hand has no cleaners and will layer ad infinitum (I've been waiting all my life to find a use for that phrase ;) )

AIO is smooth like butter. You'll surprised on how well SG adhere's to this buttery feel. You can SG on glass too, just seems that AIO does good enough a job, cause window protection isn't really what I'm after (and since windows shine on their own) but you bring a good point up, cause interior window get residue from interior parts, if Klasse protects against this or helps the residue easier to remove.

I myself use as little as AIO as possible, just enought to clean, like less than a dime full with a wet sponge and just do all the windows (some like AIO in the windshield while others don't)

Last time I used PPCL cause it helped me to get off some of the little corrosion dots and stuff. HTH- Steve

AIO can not remove PPCL as the Pinnacle cleanser does not fill in anything really. They're both cleaners. Both work very well but I tend to slightly prefer the Pinnacle cleansing product a bit more. At any rate, others are correct. Unless your paint is in somewhat bad shape or has been really neglected, you really don't need to use multiple layers of AIO. It wouldn't hurt though. Laters

Hours to go on what is shaping up to be one of my biggest corrections to date, I have to say I really enjoy a challenge but right now the enjoyment of sleep seems sweeter.

Contemplating a new policy ... "All black cars = 5 day details"

Come on now Dave. You are far too young to be doing this on a Saturday night. Since you are as good as you are, I am sure that you will have this corrected in, lets say three days. lol

I am sure you will beat this beast with great results.

Looks like a good one! I used to hate seeing scratches and swirls... now I look forward to them!

Can't wait to see the "Afters"!:Dancing Dot:
