On Saturday, I was invited to take a trip to GM's Heritage Center. It is a 81,000 square foot warehouse that stores 200 past and present GM vehicles. It is a hidden warehouse in Sterling Heights, MI...and its an invite only exhibit. There was a bunch of OLD stuff, concepts, last off of the line cars, and motorsports. There were also cutaways and displays of trannys, engines, brakes, etc. There was also every piece of media available. If you are a GM fan, or even just a car fan in general, this place ruled. I took a bunch of pics, and alot of them came out too dim since the place was kinda dark, but you could still see everything fine. Im not going to upload and link every picture individually, so Im just going to link you to an online album. If you have a question about any specific picture, post it and I'll answer.

here is a zip of all the full size images. the link may die..it would be cool if someone would make another link. all you have to do is goto yousendit.com and upload the zip once youve downloaded it. then just post the link for others.

as far as the condition of the cars....many were clean. some were a little dirty on the inside since they probably didnt clean them after everytime they were driven. none were perfect though. i dont think they had any professional (or pros who knew what they were doing) work on these cars. i didnt see one car that was flawless...even though they were all clean, shiny, and wet looking. but they all had swirls/spider scratches! i was looking at them and kept thinking to myself how much better they could look with a little bit of work!

anyways..enjoy the pics. if this is in the wrong sub forum, let me know..i didnt know where else to post this.

I think I saw this place once on TV. I think the show was "My Classic Car" on SpeedTV. The show that has the host with huge handle bar mustache. I think he said there is actually more than one of these wharehouses.

I wasnt actually invitied...my dad was invited. He works for Siemens and they took employees who received recent patents...my dad received 2 lately. so he took me.

as far as the gnx....only 4000 miles on it! the typhoon only had 98..yes 98 miles on it!

ive posted this on several forums i post at...there seems to be someone who knows a shitload about a car at this place because theyve been tracking them down forever. now they know where they are.

there are more cars. the tour guide guy said there are about 800 cars that they rotate. so who knows what else i missed...

Did you happen to get any pics of the Buick Wildcat (Im not sure if that was the name?)? It was a show car, convertible and I think it was a light blue color. It had LED head and tail lamps. My wife was supposed to have the head and tail lamp projects for that car before it go canceled, it would be cool to send her a picture.
