My Trailer

Tex Star Detail

No pics yet....Too Dark Outside.....

Well......since I sold a car and made a few hundred bucks, I decided to go out and buy a trailer. 4x8 with no floor. I did not wanta floor in it, because that expanded metal stuff they put in there is very thin and bends where it is not supported. I went out and bought some treated 5/4-6 footers for the floor.(In between a 1x6 and 2x6) Will be a lot stiffer and easier to bolt things down to it.
The cost for the trailer, new ball, and plug adapter.....less than $300.
Though...I do need to get a new dropped reciever...trailer sits a little at an angle....need to even it out..........

Next comes the water tank.......

LET THE SPENDING BEGIN

Looks like your getting closer and closer to being ready. Glad to see you could put that profit you made to use. Oh yeah plenty of more money to be spent.

Just bought my PC today, along with some wood and hardware for the trailer floor. Also picked up 2 black plastic toolboxes....about 3-3 1/2 feet wide. One for each side of the trailer. Hmmmm....what else......a few odds and ends from walmart.....

Now about to order some chemicals from a few distrubutors here.............

Still abit to do...It's getting there

I like what you got going there...... I definitely need to upgrade my trailer this year. Looking for a 6' x 10' Enclosed.

setup is coming out real good....please keep us informed...by the way i am saving some cash and will build a setup simular to yours in a year or so ...i am curious to know if you dont mind me asking how much some of this cost(break down of price) if you can give us an idea @ the end once its complete...good luck on your project and its coming out great....

trailer, new hitch and ball ran @ $300..less registration
Wood floor ran about $50 with hardware to bolt down
Trailer jack ran about $30
Those 2 toolbox/chests cost $20 each
Water tank ran $157, tax included
Straps to hold down tank $23
Fittings for water tank @ $10

Total for just trailer so far..... $590
Still needs a little bit......
Pressure washer, generator (I will borrow til I can afford one), and othe misc. things. It adds up FAST

As far as Chemiclas...I'll just keep that to myself. :eat: Let's just say, they add up quicker than you realize......LOL

Did you find that water tank on clearance? I've been checking them out and they seem to run higher than that on sites I've checked on the net. How many gallons is it?

Cool, thanks for the response. Good looking setup btw. I like the idea of the do-it-yourself trailer setup. I definitely don't have the coin to drop on a rig that's already setup. Thanks for the help :bigups

looks really nice, im sure it will work well. I was just wondering if those 2 boxs are enough room to carry everything? All the brushes, mfs, chemicals, ect.
Also what kina of boxs are they, just storage boxs from a hardwear store or somthing more intense.
but i like the trialer it is a nice set up, i hope it works well for you

Hey Tex..if you are looking for a generator..go to PepBoys...if there near you...I got a 3500 watt for under 300$ and it works like a champ...they have smaller ones if 3500 is more than you need...go to there site and look at the flyer..they are always in there...

I bought mine for power back up during snow storms..but I find myself using it for every thing I do outside that needs power instead of running cords from house....and they are very quiet....a lot of RV users buy them for their quietness.

OH great looking boy...I see he got his good looks from Mom..

And great job on the trailer...you did a fine job.....

Don't crowd that trailer to much..you need room for replacement garage doors. LOL

Good Luck my friend

I bought the boxes from walmart for 20 bucks a piece. They are SUV boxes. Suposed to go in the back of an SUV. They have a lip on the inside to keep water and other things out. Both boxes also have 2 places for locks. And now that I remembered that...I forgot to pick up 4 pad locks from walmart while I was out and about. As far as holding everything....yea...It'll do. One box will be for chemiclas, brushes, buckets, etc....all the dirty, hazardous stuff... The other box will hold my PC, pads, MF's...etc My vac will not fit in there, so it will go inbetween the boxes for now. Just through it in the back of the SUV when I go somewhere and leave my trailer. I will be adding sides soon, so in between the the boxes will be enclosed.

Eventually, I will be getting a big diamond plate Chest for the front of the trailer. It will free up a bit more room, while adding more storage. But in the mean time, I'm trying to not go overboard on spending. :whistling

Thanks for the heads up. I may just use my father-in-laws until I start getting more cash flow from the business. Don't want to overdue it. But I will eventually have my own. I was eyeing this one on eBay for a bit.

I wa going to use my father-in-laws pressure washer too, to save money, but him and his buddy took it apart :wall and lost some parts. they cannot get it back together. :chair: LOL

Think they used it less than 5 times....ran about 2 grand.......
