My "researched" BEST OF list... :)

Hi,



I have been doing a ton of research for the last few months regarding car care and have come up with a list of BEST OF's after reading literally over a thousand posts... :eek:



I would like to post it and get everyones feedback and additions...



Actually it would be great if everyone posted a BEST OF list as they see it, I think it would be extremely helpful to not only the newbies, but everyone.



So, here they are:



Car Wash - Meguiars #62 Shampoo and Conditioner

Clay Kit - Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay Kit

Wheel Cleaner - P21S

Wheel Protectant - ?

Tire Cleaner - ?

Tire Dressing - Armor All Extreme Tire Shine Gel, Forever Black, 303

Vinyl and Rubber - 303

Engine Cleaner - ?

Engine Protectant - CD-2 Engine Detailer

Leather Cleaner - Leatherique

Leather Conditioner - Leatherique

Glass Cleaner - Stoner

Plastic Cleaner - Plexus

Swirl Remover - ?

Paint Cleaner - Meguiars #6 Cleaner Wax

Paint Polish - Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze

Paint Sealant - Klasse, Wolfgang, Ultima

Paint Wax - P21S, Pinnacle Souveran,

Cloth Top Cleaner - Raggtop

Detailing Spray - FK425

Black Restorer - Forever Black



And, of course, the entire Zaino line, lol



Now lets argue!!!

With so many products available it's really hard to say what the best is IMO. I think it depends on what your working on and the results your looking to acheive. It also depends on the user, skill level, etc. A true profesional can make a fair product work in mysterious ways.
 
Engine Protectant/Dressing-I like Meg's Hyper Dressing. I haven't used CD-2 yet.

Engine Cleaner - P21S TAW, Meg's Super Degreaser if its very dirty.

Black Wow is probably my favorite for trim, ATM.

Tire Dressing - Opti-Bond has been my go-to as of late. Armor All Extreme Tire Shine Gel if you like em very wet looking. Occasionally Hyper Dressing.

Clay- DP or clay magic.



That's a few that I like. Its just what works best for you. It is more about process and technique than a product brand, in many cases. :)
 
Meg#7 is a glaze not a polish,

It s one of my favourite glaze...

wash: CG CWS or ONR

clay: riccardo

polish: 3M or menzerna line
 
Products are like wines. There is no best....

Theres ones that work for you, and theres ones that dont work for you.....Then theres some that just taste aweful!!

Well, yeah... ;)



The idea is to let everyone know what your best is, or what you consider to be the best product in a category that you have tried and let everyone else draw their own conclusions from your "best" so to speak...



There seems to be a consensus (or as much of a one as can be) that FK425 is the "best" detailer out there...



So there can be some sort of "best" list - even if not 100% agree...



It helps the newbies, and everyone really...

Just check every thread here and you'll pretty much find opposing views on the 'best' of any tyope of product. As for 425, just ask any of the fans of OID and you'll find a few other opinions as well :lol:



Everyone has different needs, priorities and techniques so theres no hope of finding a true 'best of' list IMHO....
