My plan of attack.

This is What I plan on doing.

Wash:

High pressure wash with only water, hand wash with wash mit and dawn dish soap.

Repair chips:

Clay bar:

Clay bar with Mothers clay bar, lube bar with Mothers Instant Detailer.

Cleaner wax:

Apply Mothers Carnauba cleaner wax with MF mit and remove with MF towel

Polish:

Find scraches and apply Meg’s ScrachX to those areas by hand, Apply Meg’s #9 to whole car with orbital buffer:

Glaze:

Apply Meg’s DC seal and Glaze with orbital buffer. Apply Meg’s gold class clear coat liquid car wax with orbital buffer.

Wax:

Apply Mothers CA gold Pure Carnauba wax with orbital buffer.

What do you think? Does this sound about right?

Well with the clay, you could just use the wet, soapy surface as lubricant after you wash the whole car.

And if you are claying, the cleaner wax is kind of redundant since the clay will be cleaning the surface. Other than that, it looks alright.

As Magellan498 said, skip this because you are claying

What kind of orbital buffer, remember to read about the techniques used to polish. Work it in until haze/dry.

Glaze:

Apply Meg’s DC seal and Glaze with orbital buffer. Apply Meg’s gold class clear coat liquid car wax with orbital buffer.

I would just GC it, has mild cleaners in it and provides a nice shine. Again redundant to do both.

Wax:

Apply Mothers CA gold Pure Carnauba wax with orbital buffer.

I would apply Mother's wax by hand.

Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish? #83?

You would want to do that before #9. DACP polish for the swirls and if there is a haze left behind, #9 should take care of it.

No this stuff-

Oh The Meguiar's Deep Crystal polish. I have never used it before but it is along the lines of Meguiar's #7, which is a glaze. #9 SMR seems to have a little more power, but not a whole lot more, very small amount.

I would choose either or. If you were to do it however, #9 followed by DC polish.

Wow Jason, thanks so much for your help. I have one more quick ?? then I'm done with this thread.

You say I shouldn't need to use the Cleaner wax if I'm using a clay bar. Why does the cleaner wax come with the Mothers clay bar kit? The kit comes with the clay bar, Mothers Showtime instant detailer and Mothers carnauba cleaner wax.

We put the small bottle of cleaner wax in the kit since claying will remove any wax from the spaint surface.

So, in order to do the job right, we put it in.

If you're going to use subsequent cleaning/prep products, using that bottle of cleaner wax is a waste of your time and efforts.

After claying, go on to your #9 step, then glaze and wax.
